REFRACTOMETER assistance needed

I have had this REFRACTOMETER for about 2 years no problems ever, yesterday I checked water and noticed that supposedly my salinity was at 1.050 which flicked me out. I have then took the calibrating solution and it was at 1.055 as you can see on the picture. To top that off the line is on the angle. Is it fixable or do I need new one?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure its broke, Bart. I've never seen a line on a angle like that. Something must have broke loose in it, but I never took mine apart, so I can't say for sure.

I'd spend the $25 for a new one; and then take the other apart as suggested. Maybe it can be fixed and used again.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I agree. Too much $ invested in the tank to take chances.
Just purchased new one. It would be ashamed to lose all this to save few bucks.
Thanks again.

Let us know what you find. I have a refractometer that has a tilt similar to yours, but I just calibrate to a specific point where it crosses the scale, and use that when measuring the SG.
