What can I use to get the caked on Ca bulid up off of my skimmer from the Ca Reactor?

What do you use to get the coralline off of PH's?

Thanks!

A nice vinegar bath is what I usually use. I've heard of people using muriatic (hydrochloric) acid as well. Be careful with that though. It's got some nasty fumes, so make sure you don't use it in a closet or anything. And also make sure not to get it in any cuts. That burns like you wouldn't believe.

Definitely be careful with the acid. It really is nasty stuff. And remember not to mix chemicals with it. You don't need to make any chlorine gas ;)

I've used the vinegar and warm water trick before, I was looking to expand my horizons, but don't want to receive any inhaliation injuries from my curiosity.

Just did a hydrochloric acid bath on a few of my pumps yesterday at about the same ratio as conesus again not carefully measured but it worked like a champ just do it out doors with the wind at your back :)

Hardware store. It's used for etching concrete.

It's pretty cheap, too.

Pull up your big girl panties and give it a shot. :D

muriatic acid works great at removing coralline, cleaned my skimmer and some power heads not to long ago, remember to take off all the rubber rings and stuff just in case :)

I would go the vinegar route first. If that doesn’t clean it to your satisfaction then try the acid after the big move into the new home. I’m sure with the big move getting ready to happen an accident would not be good at this point. JMHO.
