So I'm thinking of replacing my 3 year old OTP2000 skimmer pump with a new pump and need some help.

Background:

My current skimmer is a 2008-09 model optopus NW150 skimmer with a OTP 2000 w/ needlewheel impeller.

Looks simialr to this body style:

Pumps I am considering:

Sicce PSK 1000 ~$119 (with pinwheel and venturi)

Bubble blaster HY 2000 ~$190

Atman ph 2500 ~$80 with venturi

Atman ph 4000 ~$95 with venturi (not sure if this pump is too big)

I am looking for a pump that is...
quiet
no startup issues
works better than my current pinwheel OTP2000
Will work with my skimmer body
best bang for your buck.

I'm leaning towards the Sicce PSK1000 so far. What is everyones thoughts?

thanks

Definitely the bubbleblaster pump. It will turn your skimmer into an SRO 2000. It will be an awesome skimmer. Plus if ANYTHING happens, you have a 3 year warranty.

Any opinions on the other options? I have heard good things about the PSK1000 and the atman pumps are on the bubble magnus skimmers.

The atman pumps are "ok". They are very "thin skinned", known for bulging out and bursting or cracking from heat.

I replaced my Eshopps PSK-150 for a SRO-1000, and it is a night and day difference. Just look at the airline used between the two -

I had the same skimmer design as you but the NW110 model with the OPT1000 pump. My new skimmer uses an Atman 2000 and it performs very nicely, pulls a lot of air. They are cheap to buy as well. The Bubble Blaster pumps are bad *** but pricy. My friend RippinFrags has the SRO SSS1000 with the BB pump, skims very nicely.
