Rescue Corals

How often would you dip in a revive or seachem reef dip solution?

For me, it depends on what is going on with the coral (but I haven't ever used Revive). Generally, I dip as soon as I get the coral in Coral Rx, a hydrogen peroxide solution dip, and a Bayer Insecticide dip. I'll watch the coral for a month, and if I see an issue, I'll dip it again. Usually, I don't have to dip it again until it moves from my quarantine tank to my hospital tank or to my main display.

Long story short...initially, and whenever I move it into a new tank.

I've been putting together a before/after slideshow of all my rescues. I know some of these are repeats, but the format is a little nicer.

I'm guessing the first one is an echinopora (chalice), and yes, the second is an Acan (guessing A. bowerbanki?) It'll be a long time before I frag that acan...that's my baby. Although the photo doesn't show it, it gets an orange/yellow growth ring that's just insane. I'll try to grab a picture of it.

Anyone else having luck with Trachyphyllias? That seems to be one of the tougher ones.

Any other hard-to-cure corals in general?

Before. This looks better then when I bought it. Mouths were gaping open and skeleton was showing bad

That sounds about right A. Bowerbanki. send me a picture i would love to see its full color! you will have to let me know if and when you frag it. I see now that the first one is a chalice i was useing my phone earlier so the pictures were smaller lol

I have a couple of corals that need help so I hope you guys can give me an idea of what I can do to help them. If you see that I am doing something wrong by all means please let me know and I will try to fix it.

Colt coral.Never opened since I brought it home

Candy cane. Also, never opened. Both of them are in my tank for about 10 days now.

@extoris, on the colt my guess would be stress from the nem near it. As for the candy cane, what are your parameters? Also, what lighting environment did this coral come from and what do you have?

@DLandino, I have 8.2-8.4 pH, 0 ppm Nitrites, 0 ppm Ammonia, 5ppm-10ppm Nitrates. The LFS has MH and I have T5 HO Aquatic Life and I changed the bulbs on Saturday, before that they were a bit iffy. The salinity is 1.0245. I had a calcium issue last week and my LFS told me that I had close to 800 (which I have no idea why). Also they recommended Liquid Reef by Brightwell Aquatics which I bought but never used. (Kind of weird because that thing has CA in it. Also the photo makes the anemone to show next to the coral but she cannot reach it, she is way down at the bottom.

@Scutterborn, I have a leather coral that started to lose parts, do you think is from that? What do I do in this situation?
