you are awesome!

Just gorgeous, Ma'am.
Two of my big Trachys have looked like complete crap for almost a week now. :(
The other Trachys, as well as all other corals in the tank are fine.

how do you rescue that scolly??? mine one very similar like yours.

Unfortunately, I'm not much help on this one. A local friend gave it to me, and he wasn't sure what was wrong with it. It just kept receding on him. So, I did my usual coral dips and placed it into a healthy system. It recovered on its own. It may have had a parasite that I never saw, or maybe some parameter in his tank was off.

You may want to try giving it to a friend with good husbandry practices to see if the simple change in environment will help.

Thank ya!

What's going on with your Trachy's? I've had a bit of a problem with my rescue rainbow trachy (that fully recovered) trying to bleach and recede back out on me. What is up with these to rescue?!!!!

No clue, the rescues are doing great.
I'll do a nice water change today.

the scolly it my friend gave to me. now the scolly's mouth was close. I think it will be recover in 6 month.

I use Kent Marine's Lugol's Iodine, but any reef-version should work just fine with the manufacturer's instructions.

No, I use Kent Marine Lugol's Iodine (Google that exact phrase). It comes in a 1oz dropper bottle. I'm not going to link to it since RC rules are pretty strict about linking. Just follow the directions on the container. Each manufacturer has different treatment amounts/times...so just follow what is on the bottle.

Alk is low, 2 Trachys still look like crap along with an old Micromussa colony now as well.
Did a w/c, and dosed Reefbuilder yesterday, and started a pickling lime drip this morning.
Going to whip the tests kits out again in a bit tonight.

I have two lobos that I recently bought. One had some recession that looked old (no white skeleton) and the other was damaged in the bag on the way home. Now, both corals are showing some recession. How should I go about helping these corals?

How is your tank water? How was one "damaged in the bag on the way home"? Did you dip the corals?

Nitrates and phosphates are undetectable, but I do have algae, so I know I have some excess nutrients. I did not dip the corals at all. I recently picked up some lugol's for dipping. When in the bag, I think the one lobo fell over and the flesh was pushed against the skeleton.

MechEng99 need some help here I just bought a open brain it did not have this much tissue lose yesterday when I came home today I saw it has gotten worse. I do not have the kent lugol iodine I have regular iodine that you buy from the drugstore can that be used in place of lugols? Or is it a lost cause???
