Return to the Large Tank forum with a 210G Elos

Flinger You should post some pictures of your tank it seems you post more pics of the ever changing equipment than you do of the tank, not that I am complaining about all the nice stuff you have that I can't afford if you feel any sense of pity for the average poor working class reefer(me) you could always send me some of your old(actually pretty new) equipment I will gladly make good use of it.You will no longer feel guilty that its collecting dust. You can PM me and I will give you my address.I will pay for the shipping, after all its the least I can do.Have a nice day P.S. I will be having a very nice day if you send me your old dust collecting stuff please feel free to do so!:p

Dav, has his moment once in a while :) lol. But if you look at his tank, everything is super healthy with great color and PE...

Wow Nick, you must have a tough life.... My wife is the same way... The bad thing is "she doesn't want to do it" in another word, she made me do cleaning :(....

I'm prior Marine Corps myself, (0313), and my usually high standards werent up to her inspection levels.

My best friend was in the Marines (03-11) and became an embassy guard. He said he loved guarding the embassies overseas.

hehehehe, how long were you in the Marine Corps Nick? Us grunts are the world best janitor :)

From 1993 to 1997, spent time in Mogadishu during the UN pullout, (after Black Hawk Down), and also spent time in the great sand pile of Saudi and Qatar.....

Yeah, I can clean pretty well....but still not up to the Wife's standards. ;)

Are you still in?

If I had stayed in, I would have gone to Embassy Duty. Good duty....

Dav, back to you bud.... I hope your frustration has gone away. Time to get that expensive baby up and running....

I'm an army brat born in a field hospital in the middle of a war. :) I like combat talk.

LOL steve the plumb - I am very much average working class, its just that after almost 20 years of putting together systems with spare parts, and scotch tape - and daily trips to HD or Lowes, my wife pretty much gave me an ultimatum - that if I were to stay in the hobby, I had to have an attractive, put together system. So I chose the Elos. We budgeted for it, cut back on other things because this was very important to me ... and she would lay the hammer down if my next system didn't match the rest of the house. She has been patient with the issues, but its wearing thin now. I'm definitely over budget but I'll figure out ways to not spend my kids' college funds. I'll just drink cheaper beer.

I laid out a timeline for everything to get here - hopefully in the next 3 weeks. Maybe it'll all be ready for Thanksgiving. I got a crazy pack of zoanthids yesterday from Kigs, just about every morph you can imagine. That guy has got the goods. I also moved some rock around yesterday and changed my Vortech controller settings and all my cyano is gone this morning! It'll be back I'm sure - but I'm picking up some 6101's this weekend to deal with the flow.

I promise I'll get some pix next week. Lots of pretty eggcrate, my coral condos. :)

Dav, wish i could help.... but 6hrs drive is a bit too much for me. Consider i spent good 4hrs on the road daily. I would like to take a little break in the weekend... Hey, i am looking forward to see it up and running and hopefully the egg crates will find it way out of your system... It hurts to see egg crakes in such a beautiful tank. If ya know what im talking about......

Oh come on Dave your just building up the tension for the awesome tank we are all going to want tank pics!.

A hug would be nice. :) I promise to get some pix. I've been doing some shopping lately, mostly some nice rainbow acans - but I recently picked up a pair of Halocanthus Africanus, some African Angels - I picked the two smallest I could get, they are stunning fish. I see the colors dull in a couple years but they are stunning now. Hopefully they make it, they acclimated well but I haven't fed them. I don't know if I'll be able to keep them together in the same tank, but they are very small and most my fish are bigger (but peaceful) so I think I'll be OK for a little bit.

David,

How do you like your Biotopus II Controller? Is this controller accept dynamic IP or only static IP for remote access?

Thanks in advance.

Hey man - I love the B2. I do not know about #2. SMS was more important to me. I can call in to get my params 24/7, and immediate alerts if anything goes wrong.

I'm leaving for a couple days, thought I'd throw up some pix of my new Angels. Beautiful fish, they seem very healthy.
