Thanks Brett.. Even though the tank looks pretty good, I am still struggling with growth on some of the corals. Also, I made a change in the way I was skimming about three months ago and the color in some of the corals seems to have lightened or gone pastel. So, I've tuned my skimmer back to skim dry again and raised the lights just a bit. I'm using my orange digitata as my litmus test since it has lightened the most.. It's no more a dark orange like it use to be.. I gave a frag of it to my friend and in just a few weeks, it turned dark orange again in his tank.. I think I am going to do a couple of large water changes. Maybe my trace elements are out of wack. Patience is a true virtue in this hobby..

Jonathan.....things are looking great. I am too dealing with faded colors and pulling my hair out. It is funny, I use my orange digi as my barometer too.

Regarding Copperbands, I am introducing them into my tank to get my Aiptasia under control. I was told by a very knowledgeable person in the hobby that if they are kept in pairs or three of them they are more likely to survive and not get harrassed, etc. I am going to do that and if they start to pick after the Aiptasia is gone I will trade them into a LFS.

This hobby is sooooo frustrating at times:-).

Hope all is well......Tony

beautifull tank! I wanted to mount some SPS on tongan branch as well when I was setting up my new tank. It was 5 feet long and just before I got it on the stand we dropped it... :( now I have a four foot tank and didnt have the space to do it the way I wanted to. A great idea though

Jon,
Been a long time, I see you have been busy. Your tank looks awesome by the way! Good to see things are moving in the right direction. One of these days im come see you, one of these days!
Best of luck
Rob

Thanks Tony! It can be frustrating. However, there is nothing like figuring out an issue.. I was going to blame the lightning on my T5s, but I see you using MHs so, I can scratch that.. I'll update the thread a couple of weeks after the water changes and let you know how that panned out..

Thank you Acronic. I wish I had more Tonga... It's very hard to find these days.. I would do so much more with it if I had it. That's a bummer with dropping your tank.. I have a friend that had received shipment of a 500 gallon that sat in his backyard for a couple of weeks until he was able to get a team of people together to get the tank in the house.. He water tested it and everything outside. So, the team of people get to the house, it's hot outside... the tank began to crack right in front of them without touching it.. My friend was devastated.

oh happy day.......a new round of pics. Everything is looking great Jon.....keep it up~!
D, Thanks Bro! I'll get some FTS shot up in a few weeks.. Have you updated your thread recently? I need pics too!!! LOL!

Hey Rob. Thanks Buddy. She needs a few tweaks here and there, but for the most part, I can't complain. As for that visit, You're always welcome!

Beautiful tank. I have the same powermodule, my corals are a bit higher in my tank so I am trying to figure out how high off the water my powermodule should be. I am replacing all of my bulbs, how do you replace yours? Do you replace them all at once? if so how long to you have them on for when you initally do the replacement? Also, right now how long do you have your bulbs on for 2 bulbs, 8 bulbs and all 10? I am trying the same bulb configuration that you are doing.

Thanks, Jeff

Thank you Jeff. 10 to 12" should do the trick for you. Make sure you aclimate the coral that's up top. The PM can easily bleach coral out, so use caution. As far as replacement, I go between 10 and 11 months and I usually go through my local club in a group by with reefgeek and save 20% . My lighting schedule is 9 hour for the
2 tubes and 7 hours with the other 8 tubes.

Jon,
Hows the colors coming? Hope everything is going well.
Hey Brett, sorry for the slow response...I'm a bit under the weather. Well, I switched out my salt back to the original reef crystals and started getting a positive response from the corals. I will never use seachem again.

Also wondering if I should move all of my circulation pumps to one side of my Elos 120XL?

That's really up to you. You can put your vortechs virtually anywhere and they will give you awesome flow. I decided to go with the left side for aesthetics.

Thank you.. my apologies for taking so long to respond.. Yes. The floor in my boiler room where the sump is located is not level so I used wooden shims to level it out..

Still have your CBB? I purchased one recently but now he has some white stuff on his body....hope he pulls through. My aiptasia is getting out of control.

Thanks Buddy... My CBB cleared my tank of apstasia, then unfortunately about a week later withered away. He was eating mysis and all.. I am on the hunt for another. Next time, I will add blood worms to the diet as I understand they go nuts for them (Try some with your guy soaked in garlic and see how it works out). I have a friend whose had great luck with his.. So, I will keep trying and hope that the PBT remains as docile as he is now.
