Ricky's 120 Stony Coral Garden

I was just curious as to what the SPS are receiving because they look fantastic!

Here is a PAR reading from 2011, the rock work is slightly different now but around the same height.

Yeah these pumps are really quite! I think that Vortech these days are sooo overpriced!
I use two jebaos in my 55g cube. One 25 and one 10. I experience turbulance problems with the 25 due to dirt. The power goes significally down when dirt stick on the pump! I clean the pump once per month and it works like a charm!

I could stare at your SPS coral photos for hours and hours.

Honestly, the colours are AMAZING!

This is a future RC TOTM in the making! Keep up the great work.

Your tank is looking great. After seeing it a few months ago it nudged me towards metal halides. At some point when you are ready to frag again I would like to pay you another visit. The ones that I got from you are doing very but unfortunately I lost the red dragon a few weeks ago.

What fish have you added? What T5s are you running for you dawn/dusk? I've been trying a few 4 bulb combinations and haven't found one that I've really liked yet.

Swing by, my Red Dragon is huge, I have plenty of frags to spare. I added a Male McCosker's Flasher Wrasse, Male Cebu Pylei Fairy Wrasse, Male Pink Margin Fairy Wrasse, a few more Green Chromis and a Dispar Anthias. I was running two ATI Blue Plus but since I switched to two UVL Super Actinics the colors really "pop". The bulbs are not as bright visually but the coloration in the corals is excellent!

Nice photos Ricky! Your coloration is amazing, I love this tank, and believe we will see a future TOTM in this one as well...
Are you still running the tank without additives/supplements? I think I read that you don
't use filter socks, is that still the case? Also, are you using gfo or carbon, and are you still running a fuge? Thanks, just seeing what you are currently doing for filtration.
Regards,

Regards,

I currently have a 7" sock on the down pipe into my sump. I change it out once it is clogged. I am not currently running a refugium but I do have three smaller pieces of live rock curing to put a mini refugium back into my sump to allow pods to grow with Ulva algae. I run about a cup or ROX 0.8 carbon and change it out every two to four weeks depending on how the tank looks and I run two cups of GFO that is changed out once a month. I dose alkalinity and calcium daily and amino acids once a week. Strontium and magnesium are also added but not very often.
