Ricordea with a torn foot

Hello People,

I bought a ricordea today and due to some reason I didn't see the torn foot. The mushroom looks perfectly healthy [ its a gorgeous purple] and reacting to light but I see wiry spindly stuff from the torn portion [ which I assume were the guts of the mushroom]. If you didn't flip the shroom and look at the foot you wouldn't even realise its not 100% healthy. How do I best take care of the shroom? Currently I have it in a small plastic cup filled with tank water cos I feel the flow in my tamk will blast the torn area into bits. I understand a torn foot is a very bad sign and the mushroom might not make it. But is there something I can do in the meantime to help it?

Thanks!

Thanks for the response. Should I keep the shroom in the plastic cup outside the tank or should it stay in the tank? If it goes in the tank, it will be blasted around in the flow...

I say put it in the tank. It should be fine. I've had mushrooms rip their feet, I've even intentionally cut their feet with razors to get more shrooms. Make sure to acclimate it correctly and it should be ok.
