Dan - What's you current qty of Radiums over your DT and what VHO bulbs are you using? I've thought maybe I'm lacking some PAR compared to others', but just wanted to compare to your setup.

How often do you change your Radium bulbs? I read a thread that stated that running them on a ARO or a ballast other than a M80 they have a short life and you don't get the true color.(But I seen your tank and man AWESOME ,thru this thread. If I'm wrong or missed something I'm sorry.)

I am not quite sure where this info has come from regarding the electronic ballasts with Radiums having a shorter life.IME its the opposite.The magnetic ballasts drive the bulb at a higher watt so I would assume it would shorten the life where as the electronic drives it at closer to the rated 250 watt #.I am sure some will disagree and post specs from the manufacture etc...but for me seeing is believing.I have no scientific proof but I will say after 13 months with this set up and combination,I see very little loss of color or brightness to the naked eye.I will be changing the radiums in the next couple weeks so I will get a par reading with the old and new and post my findings.

i would say his colors are spot on for 13 month old radiums :) I just got new ones after 14 months, and they dont look much different at all.

Yea ,The eyes have it and what you said makes sense. When I find it I will post it so you can laugh at it. That's what make this hobby confusing at times and awesome . There are so many things to do or not to do and get the same results or even better results

I've only used 14K hami but just about everybody uses radiums and I think I'll try some next.
