Rimless Aquarium Club

Sent out several RFQs today - Hopefully will be joining the club soon with a starphire 110 gal 48x24x22

One question I wanted to bounce off of the gang was in regards to wavemaking, like 2-3 inch waves - what's the verdict? Safe to do or not with rimless? Would you do it? I've seen some Youtube videos of people doing it, but is it safe to be doing a daily basis?

I would be careful creating a wave that large in a rimless tank. Personally, I wouldn't even try it. Rimless tanks are fairly new here in the US so we are not sure how well they can handle the stress of increased wave actions yet.

Most of the videos seen on Youtube are simply used for demonstration purposes to show off what the pumps can do.

And with a wave so large in your hall, you're going to get a lot of woossh' noise as the water enter your overflow

how far are you from Greenwich aquaria Galantra? they can order anything in there.

otherwise check out the Elos forums here on RC

most of these tanks are custom orders.
