the other thing to consider is your overflow box. external (will increase space between tank/wall), center (takes up space and could limit flow depending whether in the center or side) or angled in one of the back corners. i've finally decided to do an angled overflow as my current arrangment only requires one pump for circulation/gyration in teh tank. i want to maintain that and the angled overflow will deflect the water instead of stopping it.

Vangogh, when I did mine 44x24x23 it took me 3x. I learned the hard way not to clamp too tight. When I took it apart I had glass on glass and it was nearly impossible to get anything in between the panels to separate them. Now I can look at a seam and tell if there is enough silicone. I also used RTV and found that it will start to "skim" in about 5 minutes, making the seam useless.

I am going to be moving and will be selling my current display. I want a custom rimless tank.
I was told that AGE is a very good company to deal with.
They do not really get involved with the designs.

How would I be able to have the tank made where the durso pipe does show? I have seen some pics where it stands above the tank.

Any recommendations on the return? Bulkheads? Or seaswirl? I want a nice clean look But I am nervous about bulk heads. I do not want to worry about any types of leaks.

thanks
Jay

OK I finally have water in mine so I'm no longer embarrassed to join the club. Now I just need my fixure, skimmer and some life in there and I'm set.

Not sure this the right crowd that I should ask from, but here it goes anyway.

At the moment I am running a 120G. The tank not pretty IMO as it is full of scratches. It also has a rather undersized siphon box. Neverthess the setup is usable and has been running for years with no problem. I have been wanting to replace the tank but I am always intimidated by the size of the undertaking.

Lately I intend to do a rescaping and remove a damsel while I am at it. I wonder if it is a good idea for me to replace my tank to a rimless at this point of time.

I am running 2 x 250w DE MH pendants inside my hood along with 4 strips of ugly DIY T5. If I go rimless the T5 would have to go and I'll miss the supplementation. I also don't intend to get new light. And I'll have to find a place to stow the hood away.

What I have in mind is a 4x2x2' with a 1/2" glass. I can't spare much more. If someday I decide to put the hood back on, will the tank be able to stand it? The hood is made of wood and about 1.5' tall, with the mentioned lightings in it except the MH ballast.

Last but not least, I'll very likely have kids in the next couple of years.

Some random shots of the tank..it's been almost 2 months. I also started dosing biodigest this week and bioptim next week.
