Ritteri/Magnifica Anemone?

I just lost mine probably due to a faulty heater. Has anyone here had success with them? Any pictures?

The only club member I have seen that has one or one that really looks like one is Andrea. She has had it for many years with multiple splits and or budding. After the first split the buds didn't do great. This maybe due to a fully stocked tank. There was a rotating pick on ORCA's website of her tank. It should still on the site.

Is this the one...its beautiful. It is the same color as the one I had. I am picking up a titanium heater since I've had so many problems with the glass ones.

I still like the haddoni's and they are considered the easiest of all carpets to keep alive and well.

Yes, Haddonis are very hardy, but I am not looking for another carpet right now. Mine ate a lot of my fish including a medium blonde naso so that was the last straw. I want to keep the anemone that is found in the Maldives with the A. Nigripes. So just seeing who has success with H. Magnifica.

Pacific Reefs that's the one. Last time I saw it it was about 4 times that size. I talked to her at the last meeting and she said it is still going strong.

Actually for those that have Merten carpets would probably disagree with what you just said. Merten carpets are by far more rare than Haddonis and even Giganteas but are more forgiving than Haddoni carpets.

Its not that merten's are more rare, its just not as many get collected as say haddoni or gigantea's.

They are not collected as much because they are more rare in the wild. Duh...:lol:

Mertens would be a lot more popular if they had a bigger population in the wild but they are not hence they are "rare."

Not always, people do not collect mertens because most dont believe they are as nice as say a haddoni or a gigantea, in fact there are far more mertens in the wild than haddoni's and giganteas combined.

I never claimed to know more stuff than either of you, i just simply stated what i have learned by talking to people.

Bluecarpet didn't say that, and I see where he's coming from. But from just what was said, if not many are collected (even if their are plenty out there in the wild) would mean that not many are for sale, therefore rare to the hobby. BUT... i don't know if they are rare in the wild or not.
