RMRC - New Reefers Meeting

Hello all,

it has been a bit of time and seeing all the new folks
thought it would be valuable to have a new reefers meeting
again.

The purpose of these meetings are to discuss from humble
beginnings to final product, how to build, maintain and
understand some of the lingo regarding reef tanks.

Please understand the presentations are broad in nature and
try to be as open as possible. From how to select an
aquarium, setup, maintenance and long-term husbandry
techniques, the goal is to help the new reefer avoid some
the mistakes we have made.

So the plan is to have one in Northern Colorado at my house
on March 18 and the other on March 19 in Denver. Cris Capp
has been kind enough to volunteer his home for that one and
it should be a good one.

So if you are thinking of a setup, have had one going for
years, its always great to see everyone. Too bad Brian is
not here though, would be so good to see him. (sorry did
not mean to get sappy)

So who is this Brian guy you are talking about? At first I thought it was me but that was too positive of a comment to be directed towards me. He sounds like a pretty good guy, hope to meet him someday.

I thought I would send a little preview of what my reef looks like so you know what you are going to see. I know that there have not been too many RSVP's but we can discuss anything that comes up with the guys/gals that do come on Sunday. See you then.

at this point Brandon, I have about 6 people coming.

I wanted to go thru the material Del used and that will be the standard of the new reefers meetings, but also will add material on plumbing issues.

I have been fielding a number of questions regarding my own new tank as well as tank setup.

If it is ok with everyone, we will explore in a fairly deep manner setting up a new tank using some of the current methodologies regarding flow, light and refugiums.

At this point, I have 6 people confirmed. If you intend to come, please email, or respond here as I will be buying food tomorrow night.

I'm really going to try and make one (if not both). Windsor is not exactly close for me, but I have to work til 2:30 on Sunday. If it's ok, I may drop by an hour or so late.

Kip - I'm planning on coming with 'kiznile' (as long as I can arrange a sitter). I know this is late notice, sorry. If I can bring any food, I/we would love to contribute!
