RO/DI help

Not getting any water pressure out of my RO unit. Changed the first 3 stages of the filters about a month ago was working fine. Went to make water today started it went upstairs came back half hour later and no water in the bucket. Water is not getting past the second part of the unit. Is something clogged in the membrane? When I took all the filters off and put them back on I get a little pressure for about a minute and then it goes to nothing. I remove the hose off the faucet and water starts shooting out of that from all the built up pressure. Im not the plumbing inclined if you will so really looking for some help here.

try to isolate the problem. you know you have pressure which is a good start. disconnect the tube going into the three stages first and make sure water is coming out with good pressure, if so put back. disconnect the line coming out of the triple canisters, same thing as before. keep working through till you find what is causing resistance. it's helpfull to use some extra tubing, pick some up for 2 or 3 bucks at lowes or HD.

if that canisters are clogging pull the filters out. chances are your first filter is clogged. if the city has done any water main work near by that will clog it up in an instant. I wen through 3 filters in a month because of two water main breaks within a few miles a couple years back. good news is that is the cheapest filter :)

to disconnect (on most RODI) push the collar around the tube in along with the tube, hold the collar in and pull out on the tube.

do you have a pressure meter on the unit? where do you get your replacement filters from? I would def take the whole thing apart without and filters in it maybe and see if water goes through. If i does then the filter was shot. Hope it works out for you keep us posted. Speaking of RODI and filters i need to change mine. TDS meter said 5 after the last couple brute fills.

Isolated the problem but snapped to of the tube holdings while doing it. Had to order replacement parts and are on the way. Thanks for the input on all this. Replaced my filters directly from spectrapure as that is the ro unit manufacturer. I realzied early on its best to get from the manufacturer than cheaply on a different site.

Just an FYI, I've found some fittings sized for RO canisters at Lowes.

I also have a spectrapure and I've been really happy with it. I've found replacement membranes, filters, and DI to be good quality and a better buy during group buys with bulkreefsupply.

Off topic, but somehow both of my filter wrenches have completely disappeared. I have no idea how that could have happened.
