RO - water smells

Plugged in BRS reusable cartridge w/ resin into coral life pure flow system. Things were working. TDS showed 0ppm. after about 30 gallons I could smell an odor and TDS reported 164ppm. Checked tap water and it is around 154ppm. Any ideas what could be wrong?

How old is the membrane?

You are good. BRS deduced the same thing. I think it is about a 1.5 yrs old. I have an extra so I'll replace it tonight.
