Turnermnk, i'd have to disagree, your pic may be bad, but the other photo is them after being shipped and in a plastic bag and you can still see a MAJOR differance...
funny thing is tony they were a lil cold and still had tons of color genetics is everything
i guess we are clown nazis.

I have two perculas(Not Rods) and have been feeding them Rod's food for over a year now and mine aren't any where near as cool as Rod's ONYX. They're happy and fat but not black!

after gaining some exp. with breeding in the last couple months. i have even more of a respect for the quality of rods onyx!!!!

i strongly believe genetics is the major variable in the quality of his clowns period! his food only helps to enhance what they have already.

though color /pattern are nice features, for me personally , body shape is the most important variable and side by side, his are far superior in my opinion. and yes, ive seen many many percs from many many sources.

if i was going to have only one pair of onyx, i would still highly recommend buying his. again im sure others will disagree, just my opinion. the majority of his babies are just very reliable in dev. of body / pattern / color.

The clam?

It looks like you've got plenty of other choices in there...I wonder why he likes the clam.

clam is a fairly common host actually not in the wild of course but it shows how host freindly Rods clowns are

Too cute. I wonder if there's any danger of the clowns being injured if the clam got startled and decided to close?

Do these species of clam even close up?

they can close but to snap shut that quickly would be rare usually just when a fish nips and the clowns will keep that from happening

mine are tiny still they color up more and more all the time
you should definetly get some they are totally worth it
