Here are some juveniles that Rod kept for himself, they are in a separate tank with a very sweet gigantea anemone and filled with zoa's.<br>

this is better than porn ~! lol

fiberlux, please let me know if there is any reef-related event in your area in the future :)

my one female is starting to dev.black over her head just like his male. i LOVE the hump on the female. ive never seen that in other onyx.

wow! very nice...papa is now my new favorite onyx ... sorry embryoguy your's get bumped to 2nd now. I love the black cap he has.

I can only imagine how much time all those babies take

i agree jov, :)

the male is amazing. the hood of black over its first strip is excellant. i have a female that is starting to have black thur her fins also.

these parents definetly have a very strong gene for black dev.

You guys wanna see video footage? ;)
Also did you notice on the mama how the top dorsal fin has the white on the back end...pretty cool...and I love the circles on the papa's fins!

Awesome photo's Tony! Glad someone was able to show all the "out-of-towners" what we get to see when we go to Rod's. I will try and borrow a camera and take some pic's of my pair ... they are about 1.5 years old and the female is quite nice! The male forgot about developing his back white stripe ... but that's what makes them all unique!

Hi all! Apologies in advance for my horrible fish picture taking abilities :)

I thought I'd toss in some pics of Rod's Onyx I picked up in Feb of 2005.

Here is the pair when I first put them in the tank:

Here is the pair as of yesterday...so a little over a year in my system (no anemone)

Here is my female. It was mentioned earlier about Rod's female having white on her dorsal. As you can see in the photo, my female also has white on her half black dorsal.

My male is impossible to get a pic of. He's always zipping around "their area" of the tank when I approach. Here was a shot I was able to snap off. He is still developing some coloration between his second and third bars (his third bar is not shown in the photo)

I'm not too concerned about my clowns having a true black onyx coloration. I'm extremely happy I was able to get Onyx clowns that were not WC, that are very healthy, and have a really deep black coloration.

Here is a close-up of the shape of the female's face.

Oh...I almost forgot. They are fed a variety: mysis (alternate soaking in garlic, vita-chem, selcon), occasionally cyclopeeze, small pieces of sinking pellet (golden pearls/brineshrimp direct), and sometimes frozen prime reef formula.

personally i would rather have a misbared rod onyx clown over over perfectly barred wc clowns.

when i look at others rodonyx. it looks like im looking at my own :)

THANK YOU again tony for posting@@@@@

I agree about the misbars, I don't know if I like them better just equally as much :), but I will definitely want to pick out a pair of misbars for my next pair! It does give them originality!
