Why there are so many bubble in the water?
In my tank, If I make some noises the fishes will conceal sooner.

The bubbles are there because Rod's 2" surge just let go in the picture.

ill take an updated pic of mine to keep this thread up and going... hes from last september's hatch, so hes about 9-10 months... just finished his 3rd stripe and now hopefully starting on the black between 2 and 3... pics to come..

Breathing alittle life back into this thread. Wheres those updated pics guys?

Heres my little guy, His tail stripe is developing still & the black is finally starting to look more "onyx'y" Still no black in the dorsal area though :(

I just got 2 Rod's Onyx today. They are so awesome! I must say that Rod provided me with the best customer service that I've had since I've been in the hobby. He called me to see exactly what patterns I wanted, let me know when they were shipping, and even called to see how they made it! Now I can only hope that the damn tomato clown in my tank (that I CAN'T catch) won't kill them! I tried to take so many pictures, but all I get are blurs. How do you all take such good pics when they are constantly moving?

ouch, risky move putting them in with the tomatoes.
i plan on getting another pair as soon as my new tank cycles

They don't have to move so much when ther isn't a maroon in the tank.

BTW: use a flash to get them still. Also, shoot at a slight angle so the flash doesn't reflect off of the glass into the lens.

Five more Rods Onyx this week!

Five more Rods Onyx this week!

Well, I just set up my new Hex and just had to get some more Rods Onyx. A family of Onyx is great!

I previously put two Rods Onyx with two Picassos in the main display and they paired up with the Picassos, so this time I decided to get an older pair and add some young ones. Rod and I picked out three smaller mis-bar Onyx and I'm hoping they will mature with the unique bars.......

Please excuse my poor quality photos, its just a cheap digital with no macro:

The Onyx /Picasso pairs in my 180 are doing great, but I'll have to get photos of them later.

fiberlux, will you please just let his babies grow out alittle? Lol

ive been waiting but i think i might not have any choice. people wont let them dev. more lol

anyway, the one with the horizontal second bar is nice :)

embryoguy, You should see all of the younger ones! :D

Lots of possible mis-barred Onyx for you Huey!

Looks like you'll have to break down and make the trip to DeKalb, so you can hand pick the next eight!

I'm hoping the five new clowns will stay a "family" unit, rather than splitting up! Right now, they seem to be having a great time, but time will tell...

Does Rod have a website where you can order these clowns? I wouldn't mind getting a pair of them myself :).

thanks

Rod's Onyx

I purchased 2 of Rod's onyx on July 5th, and just came upon this thread so I thought I'd post a picture. Their names are "Twister" and "Sticks".(my gf named them...) They are very healthy and active, and enjoy hosting my frogspawn, and occasionally my small torch too. I feed them Rod's food of course, and they love it. I think my peppermint shrimp loves it even more, you should see him darting around the tank when I'm feeding-I've never seen a shrimp move so fast! Anyway, here they are:

PS- I am adding a nice HOB fuge this week, so I should be able to get that heater out of the tank, and maybe even move the powerhead or take it out. I think it will look alot cleaner that way.
