Rovster's Custom Reef Savvy build......FINALLY!!!

Me too! Got home today and saw everyone of them with great polyp extension including the ice fire:D. Looking forward to setting the cruise control on! Been a hectic last few months!!!!

They all look SPECTACULAR grasshopper. Keep up the good work so the old man can go over and raid you. :lolspin:

Good idea on keeping up with ALK. Make sure in your adjustments that you go ALK and CA in equal doses. That will prevent you from chasing numbers in the future. Remember they are consumed at equal basis. This is one mistake MANY make when 2 part dosing.

Haha! Thanks. I may be a grasshopper, but I'm a black belt grasshopper;). JK! I'm in Tampa on a course now, anxious to see what my alk is when I get home! Only had a few days to dial it in. Seems like the tank is consuming a TON of alk. Must be the coralline? I'm dosing close to 50mL a day of each! I did hear that the BRS stuff is not as potent or concentrated, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Those of you dosing 2 part care to share how much. Highest it ever got in my 30 was 12mL per day of TLF.

I'm at a little over 50 ml of each alk/ca, but remember I also have all evaporated water replaced with Kalk water. btw- i also use brs for all chemicals, and gfo/carbon

Little mini update. Was taking pics of a particular coral for a growout contest and decided to take a few extra. All pics taken under 14K setting of my Radions.

A couple of things worth noting. Over the last couple of weeks, tank has looked pretty good. Still nowhere near where it needs to be, but not bad at all. I'm still dealing with some cyano and brown snot, but its getting better SLOWLY. Sand overall looks like crap. Corals have mostly been doing OK. I've been seeing some great basing, and MOST are coloring up. Some are still looking blah, none look any worse. I also lost 2 frags. So mad. They did not die, just disappeared:angryfire: I assume my turbos knocked them loose and they fell between the rocks. They were my Miyagi Tort, and a Super Blue Tenius. So bummed.

Anyway, on to the pics. You can compare to the previous pics to see where they came from.

First up is Damon's purple tip, and my grow out. Decent looking and happy for sure....

Next up is one of the most improved. This one was looking ragged with NO polyp extension. The base is starting to glow more and polyps are peeking through. Its my OG shortcake. Its also basing pretty good, but definitely more colored than the last pic...

Hyperberry. Coloring up as well. Its a tiny frag, so growth is slofo!

CB Purple planet. Looking nicer every day:crazy1:

BC Eflo, basing really quick!

Oh, you want more pics? I gotz mo pics.....

Upscales Microclados...One of my favorites....

Tricolor is SLOWLY getting more color. Still looks like crap, but nicer crap now....:hammer:

TDF showing some base color. Basing out nice too!

Joe, getting bluer, and more growth tips....

Purple flamingo. I'm colorblind so I don't know if its purple.....

Palmers Blue....happy little nub

JF Fusion Flair....

Blue Matrix is SO BLUE! Pic does no justice...

Copps Blue...

Sad PacMan....

Polletti YT finally got a YT!

Christmas Mirabilis, still struggling, less crappy, but still crappy....:deadhorse:

Hulk Mille, getting some color, not sure what color, but at least its not bleached any more....

Rovster's sunset liked the Halide betta....

Ice Fire made it through the first few weeks and is colorful. Woohoo!

Pink Millie, looks blah to me. Stylo liked it, but I just don't see it, LOL!

Crayola. Looking wierd. Almost went in the wrong direction, but looks cool!

This guy looks much better from last pic. Not much growth but the skin looks "healed"...

Blue tort looking pretty good. For the first 2 months, it did not show polyps at all, in the last few weeks, they are out all the time!

Bonsai is improving. Under actinic its always looked sick, but under white lights 12-14K had a super brown base. Now under white lights the base is still blue. I had increased my GFO and has had more time to settle.

This guy is improving, still looks crappy, another case of less crappy....

Glowstik. Love the coralite structure.....

Crappy but getting better. Polyps finally peeking out. Base coloring SLOWLY...

Money!

Not Money, LOL!

Super Man not so super. My most underwhelming addition for now...

PC Rainbow....

Blue Crush coloring up.

This has been my dark horse. Not sure I liked it a TON before, but its growing on me. Shades of Fall! Pretty:love2:

OK, now this one legitimately scares me. Aussie Pink Tip. Those look like BITES!:deadhorse::deadhorse:

Due to the corals improvement in color and health, including improved polyp extension, I'm going to pray those are new coralites coming through. Needless to say, I will be keeping a CLOSE eye on this one:headwally:

Sorry to post a bunch of frag pics so soon. Thought they looked better and different enough to post. Comments welcome.

Rovi- looking good.

I will however state- Where on earth do you get these NUBS. Many of those dont even qualify for "frags", just "nubs". I hope your getting Dollar Store prices for these things :)

LOL Viejo! Welcome to today. The days of minicolonies being passed on as frags is long gone! Welcome to the world of $1000 nubs with outrageous names:p

That said, I'm happy with my frags. They are decent size by today's standards, some bigger some smaller. Most importantly, all are proven growers and are all healthy and growing. No wild cut crap;)

Video from a couple of weeks ago. Took that long to upload:eek: Eddie, don't make fun of my colored nubs. I know they are small, but they sure are colorful:D

PS, can someone show me how to embed a video?

Nice video and pics for sure.

You need to put a nub of the Crayola in my tank SOON before you kill it and have no where else to find it!!! :fun4::fun4:

LMK- ill give you $5 for an insurance policy. Where else would someone pay YOU for an insurance policy?

Eddie, when my colony gets a little bigger, I'll give you a piece. Don't worry, your tank will get lots of backups......if you'll take them;)

Rovster- I have an eye for SPS ive been doing this for a while. Many of your other nubs are replaceable. That Crayola IMHO needs saving for the future. Up to you. And NO, I dont have enough space in my tank for many more corals. As my tank continues to mature, real estate is at its prime. Last time you saw my tank to now are 2 different stories. Im almost out of room. I dont do frags on top of frags and then frag the frags. I grow my stuff BIG!!!

AND NO upgrade is not a choice. As you know my home is small compared to my tank.

Lol, if you'll take a nub I can get you one quick. If you want an "Eddie frag" you'll have to wait , haha! Anyway, just let me know would give me an excuse to go check out these "changes";)
