Rovster's Custom Reef Savvy build......FINALLY!!!

Lol, first off I'm Cuban so I can say it:p

Come on over this afternoon and see for yourself! You can see what real beer tastes like as well:wildone: For the record I did say it's not about lighting on the turdcake thread. THAT is my argument, not that LED is superior. It's not. Your halides are probably better but your turdcake looks better under LED for the moment, because is not about lighting, haha! How many times do I have to say this. Yes halide is king but don't discount my LEDs.....

By the way, I've been asked a few times where I got the tube from. I got it from Esto Connectors but EZ Tube was also up for consideration.

Alright Sahin, I did forget my macro lens at work, but I did with what I had. Prepare for a mini photo dump. Before that a few comments. Tank is going well. Over the last few days I noticed things are getting a little pale and colors are not as vibrant. Not sure if its the T5 or the tank is just going ULNS again. I tested nutrients this morning and NO3 is at 0.2 and phos was 0.03. Going to cut back on the carbon dosing and up the nitrate and feeding and see what happens.

OK, these are a LOT of just quickie pics. I hope you enjoy....:fish1:

Start with a current FTS.....

A little variety...

Purple chromis with his "war paint". I think this fish is displaying spawning behaviour despite no others left. He has build a bed in the sand in the back of the tank and has been exceedingly aggressive lately....

"King" checking out the camera, wondering when I'm going to feed his royal highness next....

Eddies Hawkins, FS SuperBlue still recovering on the right, BC Glostik getting some size...

Polyp extension on the Rouge mille coming back....

Pearlberry lost a little luster but still looking decent. A little faded....

Finally got my paws on a Joe the Coral...I have emotional attachments with this acro. It was one of my first "nicer" acros and I lost mine in the crash....

My bonsai is getting faded. Orange Passion basing out on the right....

My nem has totally destroyed that whole side to that confusa. All that was growth. Oh well, probably a good thing....

Aquaman's LE Winterfresh acro....

Upscales Microclados.....getting some size. Love that red table to the left of it.....

Miyagi tort and BC Unimaginable Green.....

SC OP and BC Shizopolis Sunstet ....

Frogskin getting big, blue tort recovering on the right....

Diabolic Pacman...

Cornbred Purple Planet...

Much more to come...

Rouge Mille....

Purple Monster doing nothing but looking purple.....:headwalls:

Setosa and Hulk Acro....

My precious shaggy mille still looks like heck, recovering slowly but surely, I almost lost this one. This is the shaggy one I used to post all those pics of. Sad.....

Oculus Blue Crush and Shades of Fall....

BC Purple Flamingo growing but looking meh.....

Plenty more on the way...

Corals look healthy, and whilst colours are there (and they are nice), I'm going to be critical and say they do look pale. Hope you dont mind me saying that; and if you do, then tough, :debi: I want to see this tank doing well and having great colours. :)

I much prefer the depth of the colours that were there 6 weeks back.

How many days have you had the T5's on? How long are you running them?

Easy to work out if the T5's are at issue: the corals towards the back should have still held onto their colours; the corals towards the front where the T5's are located would be more pale.

I'd say your pulling nutrients back too strongly. I'd try and get the nutrients back up.

If you believe its the T5's switch them off for couple of weeks and see what happens.

Palmers Blue. Grown a LOT recently. Hard to tell in pic. This started as a 3/4" frag....

Tyree/JKR Joe's rainbow acro....

One of my favs, but not looking great but getting better....BC Jacobyberry:lol2:

These have been dormant for a while now. WAKE UP!!!!!
SniperSPS BBG mille and SunnyX Sunset....

Continues to grow. Going to frag it for a friend soon....

TDF also stalled....

Tyree Pink Lemonade, still dark but growing great....

PC Superman Table is waking up, BC Efflo 2.0 kind of pale...

LOL, did you not read my first post, or did you skip to the pics? Yes they are pale. I cut back my carbon dose and am upping the feeding. Nitrate, Pohls, etc. I expect to see a difference in a week or 2.

OK, back to more pics....
My rics...

OT

Orange Crush....check out the growth on that stag behind it...

PC Rainbow, turdcake, Poison Envy VERY pale....

Slimer lost some color...

Blue Matrix...

I thought these were kind of cool...

That's it for now guys. I'm going to go feed my tank AGAIN. I think I need more fish. I'm thinking some anthias. I'm cycling my QT.

Don't know If I mentioned this, but I had a QT full of fish. 3 firefish, a swallowtail angel, and 2 anthias that were going great. Tank broke out in ich and all the fish got wiped out. Sucked big time. Been fallow for about 4-5 weeks. In a few weeks going to restock it. It was a huge bummer, but in a way its best that happens in QT and not in the display.

I did read fast over it and kind of got the impression you were thinking its the T5's.
Anyhow, you have some very very cool pieces there. Also, despite what many say about LED's I think your tank (and photographic ability) will show that LED's are just as good for SPS colouration. Keep up the excellent work.

Thanks. Its probably a combo of nutrients and the T5 but my gut tells me its the nutrients. I'm only running the T5 3hrs per day. I did hit a sweet spot about a week to two ago and I noticed in the last few days the paleness. I'm really starting to key in on cues now that I've had these pieces for a while. Pretty soon I'll stop testing for nutrients, LOL! The only confusing part is that I still have some corals in recovery mode and those are the ones that look like nutrients are high, and those that are beyond recovered are showing the paleness. I've also noticed some paling of my LPS and zoas have lost their brilliance so I'm certain its that and not the T5.

Bi-daily water changes will fix it. Since I started mine, my corals now hold a constant white and some even have new algae growth tips.

Was sitting in front of the tank counting polyps and measuring polyp extension, and snapped this crappy phone pic. Gotta love the disco look....:D

Beautiful and following. Because of you I'm going radion pros and dual 24" t5 on my 28"x20 frag tank in the works. Might need some help with the mount since I'm only doing 1 radion and 2 t5 bulbs
