OK. Here is mine at three hours of operation. I'm getting about 60 SCFH with the shorter tube. At first the foam was really fine, but for some reason, the foam head broke. I'll know more in a couple days. Overall, the skimmer is very quiet.
I figured it was only a matter of time until the "Royal-Exclusiv / Vertex Cone Skimmer Club" thread would start, so I went ahead and got it going. Please feel free to post pics, share info, and any other questions or feedback you may have on the unit!
Everyone, we have just received pricing, some specs, and ETA on the other three models of cones that are coming!!! Please see this thread in our forum for info:
Just got this beauty today, I haven't hooked it up yet, i'm sure it has been mentioned a few times here but can someone please explain the pros and cons with using 59mm nozzle and 56mm? Should I assume more L/h is better? If so, why is the units shipping with the 59mm in the pump? Thanks
Cashyboy is correct here. You are basically getting a more "versatile" simmer with the two different nozzles. The shorter nozzle will pull more air, allowing it to be ran on larger systems. The longer nozzle pulls less air, letting you get the maximum amount of efficiency on smaller systems that do not have as much bioload.

Jeremy, any idea if there would be a problem running the outflow through a bulkhead into the next skimmer section? I am interested in the smaller versions but it seems the pumps have not been decided on.?
I have an Alpha 250 demo model if anyone is interested. I only have one, demo price is at $849 plus shipping. The skimmer was ran for approximately 2.5wks.
Please call me direct if anyone is interested, first come first serve!
If you purchased an Alpha 250 from Premium Aquatics on the very first batch that was delivered to the US that had the 56mm and 59mm nozzle please email me directly at jeremy@premiumaquatics.com if you are needing the new 47mm nozzle that the skimmers are now shipping with. Please include the name the order was placed under as well.
Note that this is for Alpha 250 owners only who pre-ordered for the very first batch, and received the 56mm and 59mm nozzles.
