RS 80 Help

Jeremy - I recently purchased the RS 80 euro reef skimmer from you and the pump is extremely loud. It's installed on an in-wall 75 and the noise is not coming from vibrations but rather the pump itself. I see that the problem may be fixed by swapping out the gen-x pump for a sedra. How do I know if I have a gen-x pump and, if so, could you rectify the problem? Thanks

There is a thread a few lines down of others having similar problems. It seems that most have rectified this by contacting ER and getting a new impeller.

If you have a Gen-x pump it should have a GenX label on it saying gx2400 I believe... thats how mine is any how. I believe part of the cost savings on the Promo models in not only the extruded acrylic, but the Sedra swapped for the GenX. Thats just my $.02....

If you have a Gen-X pumps it will be listed as a model number starting with "GX" on the side of it. If you contact EuroReef directly they will fix this problem for you. They can be reached via phone at 1-877-HEY-EURO. If you have any problems getting a replacement or need my help for anything please just let me know.
