+1. When I picked up my green gig recently, I must've been in the store 30 minutes observing, and just making sure it was A) a gig B) as healthy as I could hope for and worth the effort... I've always been leery of buying online.

*edit* since my previous post contained not feedback to the thread..
i still wish to stay with my original statement.... keeping the Giga's seperated for treatment.. buying so many at a large bulk to me seemed like you were looking to have an overnight mircale S. gigantea tank, and imo that cant be done... they need to be slowly collected over time... you coulda easily done 2/month.. treating in 2 10 gal/tanks.. and couple months down the road from now... (if successful) had a large number of S. Giga's ...
with that being said, i hope you dont entirely give up on the idea, because i like it.. i think you should just step back and slow it down, and collect over time
+1 I think if the gig were treated more slow then it might have turned out better .

What is your method of slow treatment? I personally don't think these gigs were meant to survive (sliced gigs) very long no matter how one treats the nem. If there are any documents of this I would like to see it and prove me wrong once and for all.

your right... if the gig's were indeed cut, they were doomed from the beginning and treating them.. wouldnt of mattered at all..
but say out of the eight.. only 4 were sliced.. got rediculously unhealthy ... passed infections to the other 4 that were not sliced.. you threw them all into 1 tank.. when they could have.. or not have been... to farr to treat.. sick ones infect the healthy ones, now your at 0..
im not really trying to argue with you, or tell you how to do it... but what im thinking he was implying with my statement, is a slower treatment of not buying so many bulk at once.. 1-2 s. gig's at time.. collect over time.. its easier to monitor 1-2 maybe even 3 s. gig's at a time appose to 8...
and please dont take my reply as being snobby or rude.. im just trying to help and i know it can come off differently via reading text sometimes.....

Thank you that is what i meant just to start slow and treat 2 gigs at a time per 10 gallon tank thats all .

Agreed to bad luck very bad luck. If I would have gotten whole gigs I believed I would have execute it with 80% successful to having most or all stable and living. If I would have done it all over again I would without the same supplier.
To each his own. You really can't put yourself or tell peeps what is wrong or right unless you have done it yourself.
I have left the nem seen for the moment but I will be back...
