just as a note: I'm talking about the Caribbean sailfin blenny (Emblemaria pandionis), not any other species of sailfin blenny.

from the first time I saw this fish, I was in love. I'd like to add one, or a few, to my 40g breeder as the first fish back in after an ich outbreak. I read somewhere that they can co-exist with conspecifics so long as their is adequate room, and the males will display their "flashign" behavior at eachother. from those fo you that have had them, do you think a 40 breeder would be sufficient room for 2-3?

also, would they get along ok with a pair or small group of greenbanded gobies, and possibly some other smaller gobies?

No,dont.they are very aggressive fish.every fish swim near it's
Hole ,it will open it's mouth to bit even your hand~

the caribbean sailfins? everything I've read about them points to them being very peaceful, just opening their jaws and not biting, more "show" than "bite"...

if you have small fish which maybe jump out when sailfin blenny show.I remain don't think this blenny is peacefull :(

Dont you think that this aggression in this video is really more related to the fact that there are two of the same fish fighting? I have one with two shrimp in a 14 gal biocube and he does just fine. It is the only fish in there now so I cant really speak for the aggression other than the inhabitants from the tank that I got this one out of all got along fine.

As always anyone should collect as much information as possible before bringing home that little bit of magic that may turn out eating every thing in the house.
