Anyone got a salifert alk instructions handy? I lost my sheet. I know the jist of the test ( drop and swirl till color changes) just give me amount of water, amount of #1 ingredient and then # 2 ingredient if anyone uses thease kits.

P04 is 10 mls of water to how many drops of reagent? Lost those instructions also....:(
I wish Saliferts site had the istructions listed for scatter brains like me! Thanks

Wow never mind, I found a sellers site who lists lost istructions! I never find stuff on line fast but did tonight. I got some of fishdocs awsome frags tonight and was wanting to just check the params before I put them in the tank. You guys should get some before he moves them all to East TN!!

Do they happen to sell Red Sea kits and have instructions for them? I got Alk reagents from a friend who lost the instructions and color card and so the test has just been sitting around. I hate to get rid of them, but I can't do much with them unless I know what to do.

Alk is easy. 4 ml of tank water with 2 drops of KH-Ind (half of each if you want to do the low resolution method to save reagents). Swirl for about 10 seconds. With the small syringe with the pointed tip, fill to the 1.0 mL mark (don't worry about air between the plunger and the where the reagent starts in the syringe, as long as there is no trapped air between where the reagent starts and the tip of the pointed dropper). Add dropwise until the color changes from blue to pink/orange. If using the full res method (4 mL and 2 drops), take the syringe reading directly. I can't remember the formula right now, but will post when I get home. I know that .5 is right around 8.0 dKH. There is no color card for this one since it is a titration (like the calcium tests).

Thanks Gary for taking time to post, I found a site which listed all the instructions that sells salifert. Good news is .5 is 8dkh which is exactly what mine was sitting on. My params always check out fine but I still manage to kill acros. Hope my new stuff fairs well from Fishdoc!

DMbillies, The site just had salifert, sorry. Try a on line search or emailing the company directly.
