Well after 7 yrs i'm finally getting married and all i ask was that we went to a island for a honeymoon.. So after some time we decided on Sandals St Lucia but i would like to know if there are any good snorkeling or scuba ????? And if anyone here has been how did you like it ??

My hubby and I actually had our honeymoon at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian and loved it! We didn't do any snorkling (after doing scuba, my hubby and I can't stand the limitations ), but the diving was pretty good. We were dealing with the effects of a hurricane passing north of the island, so the visibility wasn't stellar, but we saw a lot of wildlife and smaller coral formations. Plus you can't beat diving when it's basically free! Let me know if you have any more specific questions about the resort or if you'd like to see any pictures!

When we dove it was through the Sandals resort, so we didn't go with an outside dive operator unfortunately. The sites that we went to were just offshore of the resort (no more than a 5 minute ride if even that), which is located by Pigeon Island on the little jut of land on the left of the northern point of the island. Sorry, I didn't get the names of the dive sites recorded since I convienently forgot to pack my dive log.

i think the place you are going is the old grand lido bracco? if it is i was there in 03 and the resort can set it all up, from begin to expert dives.

Thank you for the help, I will be in this location in March for a cruise. So I'm looking for a location to dive that would be convenient to both the cruise ship and my wife will be cruising with me. If anybody's done the dive from a cruise ship please let me know. Thank you

I just got back about 2 weeks ago from my honeymoon in St Lucia. We stayed at the Regency it was cheaper and had better food! Although, 5 out of the 7 days we spent the entire day on the beach at the Grand. The beach at the grand is much much more calm and the water is far clearer. Make sure you do the included water skiing and wake boarding as well as the catamarans its all a blast!!! Make sure you also go to the french restaurant at the Regency its the best on the island! You have to make sure you get reservations the day you get there for all the restaurants that require them they fill up very very fast and they wont let you in!

As for the snorkeling and scuba we didn't want take the time to get out certification for scuba but we did go snorkeling the waters are shallow enough in most places for a health person to be able to free dive and look all around!

The mistake we made was under estimating how nice it was going to be. I was thinking included snorkeling yea that's going to be here is a pair of goggles and snorkel go out on the beach and poke around. So, I didn't buy the waterproof digital camera my wife wanted to get from bestbuy.

No, you have to make reservations at least 24 hours in advanced the boats leave at 8am 1pm and 3pm and the 8am is mostly for the scuba because its way longer then the other two. You ride on a big boat for about 45 min up the coast to one of several spots the water is crystal clear and its a lot of fun you will love it. I thought you might like it so here are some photos and a video!
