At the end of the day walking by the reef tank I had to do a double take and quickly notice a coral colony RTN'ing. I immediately knew that I had to frag it up to salvage as much as I can before it completely dies off.

Made about 20 plugs

My Ca reactor effluent output is not functioning which has been causing an Alk swing. I didnt realize this until like two weeks went by. I now will be dosing manually until I fix the pump feeding the reactor.

I had similar issue when ran out of co2 didn't relize for a few days problem with getting ur tank real stable is it becomes a huge problem when something goes wrong where as b4 the corals where used to swings to a degree

wow that sucks... I can see that you grew that from a frag... always hard to see something that has taken time to go RTN(Rapid Tissue Necrosis) so quickly... hope you were able to salvage what was left...

Thats why i will never go with a calcium reactor again had dosing is the most reliable . No worries when not home

Doc can you hook up the reactor to a controller in case there is a malfunction, perhaps it can cut off the power?

I think reactors are efficient and so convenient- ill try to dig up info as well.

sorry to see..it happens once in awhile to all of us into SPS....I usually make a few frags and glue all the rest into one big one...as it grows it will fuse all together into a nice colony again.

Why r u feeding it with a pump
Cant u feed water from the tank with a ro sized feed line

Yeap grew it from a frag. Salvage all of the frags!

I actually did grab a piece of marco rock and gllue a bunch of frags to it.

Reactor was fed by an aqualifter.

NOT FLATWORMS ANT.... wouldn't wipe out a colony in hours.
