Went to a fish store today and saw a yellow hawkfish in one of their display tanks. I had only seen them offered for sale online and to actually see one in person was a treat. Thought I'd share a pic and a video:

Online in the mid 200s. Not sure locally. I didn't ask. This one was in their display.

Aquatic collection?LFS here has one too - a really big one.
It's been there for quite a while now. I guess most people are worried about their other fish. That guy looks like he could easily swallow a 2 inch regal angel and probably 2 to 4 firefish for desert

I'd trade or sell the flame, or move it temporarily to another tank or sump to see how the yellow plays out. The yellows are so much cooler for color and rarity. You can actually get that yellow for $140. It's 30% off $200.

In my relatively short observation it looked like a mellow but opportunistic fish. I wouldn't suggest it for a nano tank but in 60+ gallons it probably will be fine with appropriate tank mates.

I would not mind picking him up but I got a flame hawk and not sure if they will get along in the 100g I have. Do different species fight often? Very pretty though.
