I just transferred to a 50g from a 28g. I tried to match all my parameters to lessen the stress as much as possible such as salinity and temp. I also opted to use new live sand and new water. It's too early to tell but I lost one fish and my coral haven't opened up fully yet. It's been about a couple of days. I'll keep ya posted. I also used dr Tims in attempt to hold back any new cycling the tank will be going through. Not sure if this is the right way or best way but it's what I thought of since I didnt have the luxury of cycling the new tank before I transferred everything. The wifey only allowed me one tank and that's it lol!
I get some bio spira asap. Not useing your old water can cause a huge shock your system. Also keep an eye on your ammonia. From what I have read it's like starting over from square one. Expect a cycle to happen. I would also get some GFO. Chemipure would be a good choice.
