Schreiba's 83g Miracles Rimless [40x24x20]

updatesss? :D
I got started building my stand this past weekend and am hopefully going to be almost finished this weekend. I have done the structural construction of the floating canopy and just need to complete the finishing.

Also picked up some nice equipment last weekend with the black friday sales :)

Nice tank dimensions. Can't wait to see it all done and running. I am going to have the same problem with my mp10 situation as the new tank I'm going to get built has thicker glass and my mp10s will no longer be of use. I think you probably will be okay in the beginning with the mp40, but as the sps fill in the tank you may find you need another one.

I currently run 1 MH 400 watt of my 36x20x21 tank and it barely lights the sides so I def would go with two and supplement with t5s for that extra color pop.

Good luck with the build
Thanks for the helpful advice! And yeah looking through threads on here it seems like once the tanks start to grow out their SPS colonies, they pretty much have to add another vortech. And yeah I figured one 250W MH wasn't going to cut it especially now knowing that your 400W doesn't over a 36" tank.

Canopy looks really good. I'm looking forward to your build. I'm currently working on get a quote from dsa for a bigger rimless tank myself. Can't wait to see your new tank with water.

Thanks!! I'm really excited to have it all setup but I have a feeling it won't be running water until after the new year. Just a lot of DIY stuff to finish up and I can only work on it on the weekends. How big are you looking to go?

I'm looking at going 60x30x21 with a center overflow. I was thinking of going with the 105 neo that dsa makes, but the wife said if u are going to upgrade might as well get the tank u really want and something u won't outgrow in a year or two. That was music to my ears when she said that. Lol

Wow yeah that is awesome! Great dimensions too, if I had more space I probably would have gone with 30" width as well. Are you going to have all the dream equipment to go with the dream tank? :p

To be honest I haven't ever really made up a equipment dream list. I know for sure the next tank is going to have two metal halides and at least 4 t5s. I have a custom designed sump in mind. Other than that nothing thought up. What about u?

Yeah I haven't really made one either. I would have to research to really see what I wanted. This is probably about as big as I'll go too until I have my own house with a dedicated fish room. Then the possibilites really open up...

Here it is right next to the ADA!

The new tank will be where the ADA is now. I got most of the plumbing done in the new tank and took down the sump of the ADA, hence why you can see so much equipment in the ADA. I still need to add doors to the stand as well but that will be relatively simple since I'm just going to use magnets.

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see this one built out! Congrats! My Miracle will be here this week! :)
Thanks! And that's great, I have no doubt you'll love it.

Tagging along looks like its going to be an incredible set up.
Thanks, I hope it turns out how I've envisioned it!

Hey Shreiba, one question. Did you need suction cups to carry your tank? Thanks
Nope, it was pretty heavy but I was able to do it with one person helping out.

Tank looks fantastic man! I really like the dimensions..

I am hoping to go with something similar and get a 2nd Miracles tank.. just cant seem to make up my mind with what dimensions and overflow yet..

Thanks geaux xman! And yeah I spent a lot of time looking at tanks here on RC trying to figure out what dimensions I wanted. My overflow has worked out well, just enough space to fit the plumbing in. Although if I had to do it again I would have researched external overflows a little more.

Your tank looks so similar to mine:

Mine is 47G though. Look forward to your build. Subscribed.

Looking good, when do you expect to have the new tank up and running?
Thanks! I'm hoping to have water in it this coming weekend but it's more likely that it will be running after the holidays. I still need to finish the floating canopy too which could be a few weeks.

Wow they do look a lot alike! I'm going to have one solid door across the front but other than that they're nearly identical. Did you get yours from Miracles? I'll be following your build as well :)
