I like the one melev built, in a video on his website he shows it trapping a fish, seems like it would be simple, but i like how its big enough to trap a large fish.
[/B][/QUOTE] I have the club fis...sh. Need to get Todd to give lessons though.

hehe I can't imagine a 10x5x5 trap in my tank, it would take up the entire thing. LOL

I am most interested in learning how to cut the plexiglass/acrylic (and get smooth edges). The last piece I cut was a splashguard for my light mod. I used my dremel to do the cutting, my nail drill to smooth out the edges and finally hand files (for fingernails) to really smooth the edges out. It came out really nice, but I am sure that there is an easier way to cut it. Oh and my bunny thought I was killing someone. It was so loud.

Will we also be learning how to set pieces together? When I upgrade to a larger tank I would like to know how to make my own sump.....

Keri, there is definately an easier way. :D

We will cover:
Basic acrylic principals and techniques (discussion and drawings)
Cuting acrylic (table saw)
Welding acrylic (solvent)
Cutting teeth (router)
Drilling (drill/drill press)
Basic bending (torch)
Flush trimming (router)
Sanding (block/hand sanding)
Polishing (buffing wheel)
and Scratch removal (lots and lots of sanding)

Chris, I have a heater for my garage so it should be nice and toasty. :D

Due to limited room in my office, I'd like to ask those interested in my nano to go in shifts. Thanks for your patience on this.

Eric do think we could build a frag holder to hang off the side of a tank. wink wink

That would be pretty simple. :D

Hey Eric - do you need us to bring anything to the meeting Saturday?

Just yourself and some warm work clothes.

Hey Eric, I'm planning on being there. How about making a few acrylic algea scrappers

I think that's reasonable. :)

Sorry, I missed this one. I was looking forward to watching the maestro perform... So, what did you build, Eric?

LOL! Just widgets and an acrylic scraper... However I donated a 14g lagoon w/ external overflow to raffle along with 3 bags of salt. :D

I wanted that tank! that was very nice of you to donate it to the raffle. Great meeting and it was nice to finally see the nano in person thats a very cool tank.

No problem Reet, glad you guys were able to show up! :)

Thanks Chris, sent you a PM...

My pleasure Murph, glad you guys though the lagoon was cool. :D I forgot so talk about it, the black back is actually removable even with the bulkheads installed.

Glad to hear it Russ! Hopefully you won't have to get quite as wet. :D
