SCMAS January Meeting

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all very much for inviting me to the January meeting. I know a lot of you and am looking forward to meeting the rest of you. I have known ReefKoi for many years if anyone wants some background on me, he’s your man. As Leopard Wrasse mentioned I am bringing a raffle item or two or three or who knows, time will tell.

If there is any thing else I can bring like drinks or chip in for the pizza, please let me know.

Thank you all again

Nice 1st post, Scott, good to see you on here. You don't need to bring any food or drinks, we have all of that covered.

Unless something comes up, I will be there! Looking forward to visiting SeaWorld. Didn't know we had one of those in Colorado SPrings, LOL

Yep, I finally got it all together. Got my PC working again, got online, got my account set up with RC. So here we go.

Murfman, thank you, and if that changes and I do need to bring something please let me know. Thank you.

I might attend. I looked at the mapquest link and couldn't figure out where Peyton was. Then again I have no idea where hwy 24 is. I only got out here about a month ago and work has kept me relatively busy. It kind of worries me driving around here, ROFL. Why does it seem like if you drive the speed limit, people HATE you?

Peyton is the ZIP code. The location is actually is nearest the town of Falcon, which is at the extreme East end of Woodmen Road (where it meets Hwy 24).

Use Mapquest to get directions from your place to his address. Depending on your starting point, you'll be instructed to take either 24 (Platte) or Woodmen to Falcon. His address is only about 10-15 minutes from Powers and Platte near Peterson AFB.

Because there are so many exciting places to see, people want to get to them ASAP. Or...maybe they're in a hurry to get as far away from the place they just left just as fast as possile.

Welcome to Colorado, my friend.

Actually its way worse in Florida, We drove around Miami and the keys for a few days, I got passed like I was standing still most of the time

Eric Drew is getting us a deal on pies...it's already set. Tod, you're right, we may need 5-7 pizzas, but well see a couple days before the meeting. More might come, or some might cancel.

I don't suppose anybody has seen the Pizza Hut $5 pizza deal on TV?

It's 5 for a Med Pie

I'm getting Large's for $6 from Dominos (if we order 5)... and he'll do wings (order of 10) for $5. We just need to decide how many of what we want to get.

You are more than welcomed to come!

How can I reimburse you for the pizza?

Having grown up in Florida I guess its best described like this. Our philosophy is, its not the trip, its getting there. We know that there is a leway from what the sign says and what the police officer is going to pull you over for, so we aim more for just under the ticketing speed than the posted speed. Add in traffic and the police officer has more trouble figuring out who was really doing the excess speed so everyone speeds up even more. Your not going to get ticketed for going with the flow of traffic even if its 85 in a 70, its weaving in and out of traffic that will attract unwanted attention.
Even I slow down in construction though, its one thing to be dueling with others going just as fast as you are. Its another to have to dodge a construction worker standing still.

But if you thought Miami was bad try downtown Atlanta. You will find people doing the 60MPH speed limit to 95 and better in rush hour.
