Scotty & Tammy's 4x4x2 SPS tank

Back when i was married my wife made me get her a seahorse - count yourself lucky you got a Xmas tree monti Scott..............:)

Did i read somewhere you were going to remove the sand and go BB or was that someone else.
How is everything going in the tank mate, anything you're not happy with or thinking of trying. Got any super cool stuff hidden away like Bello and Sahin do all the time.......:p

Hi biggles, yes I'm glad I picked one that has some taste mate :D

You did read correct but I'm not doing this in the 4x4x2 everything has been going well with that tank and it's pretty much sit back and watch it grow at the moment. We have always had a smaller tank in our bedroom which was a 220L custom made system full of LPS but I really wasn't doing it for me anymore so I've pulled it down, redesigned the sump and going for a BB ULNS SPS tank. Mainly going to try a lot of deep water species and the SPS on the harder to keep end of the scale :)

I have the few odd super cool pieces floating around mate. One I picked up the other week which I've only ever seen once before which is blood red encrusting montipora with light pink polyps. Just waiting on it to colour up nicely as it wasn't in the greatest shape when I received it but I hope for the best :) what about you mate ;)

Hi glaukos and thank you :) I love the goldrims also mate he's a very cool fish  I've had him for close to 5 months now he was the last fish that was to go in my tank and very happy with the decision.

As for secrets I really don't have any all I do is feed my fish twice a day, test a couple of times a week and change 200L of water every week and thats about my tank in a nutshell :lol2:

I will keep you posted mate just in the middle of doing some modifications at the moment but still trying to decide if I start up a new tank thread or just add it into this one

Thanks for the reply Scott, a second SPS tank makes much more sense than jello corals mate. Looking forward to watching it take shape
That monti sounds nice, i generally kill any monti i buy - it's a knack i have lol. Now i just assume i'm going to kill them and stick acros on them before they have a chance to self destruct without my direct input. :p
Can i ask what brand putty you use if you use one, i'm a bit sick of the white selleys one as it tends to stick out like a sore thumb.

This is an older pic but gives a good look at the scape

How on earth did I miss seeing the Red Acropora spathulata on the left???!!!

I agree biggles the jello corals just aren't much of a challenge and you don't see much reward for the work you put in. Thank you I will update as progress starts to happen, It will be a very minimal setup equipment and scape wise, I can see what I want to do in my head so just need to put that plan into action

I have some friends that have the same issue with monti but we can never figure out why but I really like the all stick tanks there are some amazing ones out there and that includes yours!

I've been using the selleys putty too mate but try to use as little as possible for that same reason! Sticks out from a mile away

Thank you sahin that was one of the first new pieces I ever bought for the tank :) I'm sure I have some floating around I recently took mate I'll dig them up for you buddy

Your aquarium is beautiful! I'm copying your light configuration by the way lol! Just need to get the AB special.

Thank you very much Chris :) that's why I post things like that up mate I have no issues with people running the same thing I do. If I did I'd be keeping it a secret :lmao:

I havent used the ABS in a few years and thinking of adding 1 to my 8bulb lineup.

I was originally running all ABS sahin but it was just a little bright for me so decided to replace with all C+ which I didn't like. So put back in the 1 ABS and it really do like that combo and most of all the tank seems to be too

Nice photos scotty.

Sorry if it's already here, but is your return 32mm split into two 25mm locline fittings?

If so where did you get the locline from?

Epic tank, I wish I knew what you know

He always seems to find his way into the photos :lmao:
Thank you very much but honestly I don't know that much at all. I water change every week and keep parameters as stable as possible, no special products just feed fish and that's it :)
