Scotty & Tammy's 4x4x2 SPS tank

Mines a different pump every so slightly but I had the similar problem Scotty,only thing is at home it never tripped the circut breakers when turned on but I took it to work one day and tried it and it trip the whole factory instantly.Very disappointing but I can say when thing was working it worked a treat.

That's pretty much what Happened here Chris, luckily I was home at the time. I agree when they are working they are awesome and definitely worth the money but when things like that happen I think not :)

Thank you Matt :) I agree mate you can only plan for so many things to go wrong and only monitor so many things, but we can never see or tell what piece of equipment is going to fail. Your right about that also we fork vast amounts of cash and put faith in all these little gadgets to keep our tanks alive :lol: it's a crazy hobby when you lay it all out like that but I've learnt 2 lessons as of late!

1- Battery Back Up systems are worth their weight in gold

2- never become complacent because you never know what problem is lurking around the corner!



Thank you Dan :) that's the thing it wasn't the DC pump model it was the stock standard Red Dragon pump. It fried the motor block which caused the tank and the house to smell like burnt electrical and also shut off the power to the house, luckily I have a DIY BBU which kicked in and kept the tank running :)

Thanks Dan :) everything was ok buddy I had a little colour loss from my ALK spike but that's been about the worst of it. Luckily the skimmer was only offline for 1 night which was very lucky as there isn't a lot of Royal Exclusiv product down in Oz
 
Thought my time of buying fish was over for this tank but something too good to pass up and also something I've always wanted has come up!
Hopefully I'll be adding a female feminus wrasse in a couple of days :D

Hi Richard and thank you mate :) I'm a huge T5 lover I won't use anything else ;) I'll try to get some pics for an update on the weekend when I get some free time finally :lol:
