Scotty & Tammy's 4x4x2 SPS tank

Thanks Conor :) I was a little sad too mate but family comes first. Maybe one day I'll upgrade the 4x4 but that won't happen for a while yet, we have decided on a size though and it's a 7x4 ;)

Oooh, I love the idea of a 7x4! That would be amazing, and yes Family always comes first. Good for you Scotty. I look forward to continued updates on your 4x4 and one day will look forward to your upgrade.

One day mate :) it's a day I don't look forward too though as a new tank has to go in the same spot as the 4x4. It's a job that scares me to be honest  I'd be worried about losing colonies in the transfer

As long as its not the 4x4 it's all Good. . Congrats buddy such a blessing from god.

Thanks mate

Wonderful tank as always, and keep getting even better. I quite often refer your tank to remind my friends in Taiwan they need more large colony to structure their tank.

very cool tank!!!

Crazy colours! And good news on the baby!

Do you dose anything? What do you keep your nitrate and phosphate at? How long is your photo period? Thanks.

Thank you dtum, I only dose randys recipe Alk, Cal, Mag and zeo K-balance when potassium is low. My no3 sits at .2ppm and my po4 is at 0.05ppm. My light period is 11 hours in total with 9 hours on full

Some new pics from a couple of nights ago, made a couple of changes recently. Cleared out a couple of big pieces of SPS that were on the sandbed at the front of the tank, mainly so I could neaten it up a bit and make some room for my clams.

Thanks biggles :) The angel is a Genicanthus Semifasciatus mate. The Seri stays bud, the tank would look naked without it

Hi Scotty,

I echo Biggles' comments about your tank. I love your G. semifasciatus. Is it a female? It looks pretty similar to G. melanospilos except the head region. I will try to source one in the UK though I have never seen one in my lfs.

Those clams are to die for... Are they T maxima or crocea?

Yes you are correct the G. Semifasciatus is a female. I've never seen one here in Oz either, my buddy at my LFS noticed her on a wholesalers list and ordered her for me before even asking me because he knew I wanted one or three hahaha
All my clams are T. Maxima

Thanks again :)

Looooooove it:inlove::inlove:
No matter what you do,it will always be beautiful!
Mature tanks with mature corals are a totally different category:thumbsup:
Amazing as always buddy!

Nice update Scott. Tank is looking great. Love the fewer bigger colony approach. How many pieces do you have in there?

Your tank is looking epic as always! Now you gotta try to get another semifasciatus in hopes one turns male. They make such cool pairs and the males are stunning...as are the females.

Thank you Wazzel, the big colonies were never the plan haha it's just ended up that way when all started growing so quick. Numbers wise on colonies I'm not too sure now as I've been chopping and changing a bit lately :)

Yup, this tank still looks like a magic box from another dimension!
Love it!

Thanks Matt ;)

Thanks Conor :) I've been on the hunt mate trust me and my fingers are still crossed. They are pretty rare down here bud!

Still just stunning

Thank you :)

Everything is good buddy and when i see pics of your tank it's even better:beer:
D

That's good to hear buddy :) when I get a minute I'll swing by you're thread and check up on ya ;)

WOW. Nicely done. One thing to have a nice SPS tank with small colonies but to have one with large colonies is rarer still. Really nice! Thanks for sharing.
