With a regular Sabae yes, a Malu I wouldn't try it yet....

6x 54 is enough lighting for a crispa or malu. How old is your tank? I ask because they are a little touchy when you first get them but, IMO, once they are settled in they are a bulletproof nem

Why ya givin' up on the ritteri and makin' plans on a replacement so soon?
There's more to prepare for or base your decision on than just lighting, params, time established, flow, other tank occupants, tank size.
But yes, T5's are generally fine.
