SEBAE under PC lighting?

So in my biocube 29, which has 72 watts of PC lighting (actinic, 10K), i was wondering if i could have a sebae? My LFS said i could have one, but i thought i read somewhere that you needed a metal halide for them. What would you guys do? BTW im getting the new anemone in exchange for the other one they sold me that died within a couple of days. All of my params are at zero just checked them yesterday.

How long has the tank been up and running? Generally, the advice when it comes to anemones is to wait until the tank has been stable for 6 months and then try a BTA. I don't have a sebae myself, but I would say 72-watts is too low for that species and the fact that they are bottom dwellers.

IMO, the bigger concern is the size of your tank. A sebae will get way too large for a 29 biocube. Many years ago I had one, and the thing took up 1/3 of my 75.

I would advise against getting a sebae anemone. They are very difficult to keep and will outgrow a 29 very quickly. If you are wanting a clown hosting anemone I would suggest the bubble tip anemone, entacmea quadricolor.

But before you go out and get one, how long has your tank been setup? What parameters have you tested and what were the values?

Also, anemone selection is crucial. Never accept an anemone in anything less than perfect condition.
