Sell or Trade Reminder

Ladies and Gentlemen.

Please keep in mind in order to Sell or Trade anything on the Reef Central Forum and the NY Reef Club Forum. You must have 50 or more valid posts( Ex: No hello or I like your tank setup) to have that privilege. This weeds out the abusers trying to make a quick buck.

Btw, you can read more about our 50/90 policy in this thread: Selling on ReefCentral. Our 50/90 rule is in place really for everybody's protection. The internet is by and large a land of anonymity, there more often than not no telling what the person on the other side of screen is like. We like having members who decide to sell or trade here establish a history for themselves first so all the other members can look upon it and get a feel for the person on the other side of the screen. Is this person safe to give money to? Or even details on where I might reside? Or should I run screaming the other direction?

And hey, it helps out RC too because RC's purpose is primarily for information. We believe others sites like craigslist and eBay and [insert your own favorite for classifieds site] have a pretty good corner on the "getting rid of old items" department already.

Edit: I edited Ozone's post a tad bit. BUYING is fine, no minimum restrictions on buying. The 50/90 does apply to selling or trading though.

I came over from Manhattan Reef and I wish I read this before I tried selling something on here. I got a violation. A warning would have been nice. I meant no harm just trying to offer a great deal to the RC community. I must say I been reading a lot from this site. I thought I new a good deal about reefs. But I must say I learned a lot the pass couple of weeks. Great place to learn and get answers for Reef questions.
