sergeant major damselfish + sargassum anglerfish caught

I've spent the last week in a half collecting fish and inverts at Port A Texas. And I caught quite a few sergeant major damselfish(about 40) all ranging between 1/4"-3/4" I was wondering how long it would take before they would get to about 2" plus and become aggressive? Are damsels quick growers?

I also caught 6 sargassum anglerfish. Does anyone know anything about these?

Do you think my LFS would give me store credit for either of these types of fish?

BTW my LFS usually does store credit for half the buying price..

Lemme know your thoughts.

Thanks,

charley

I'd let them go, especially if you aren't keeping them for personal use. Sergeant Majors really have no place in the hobby, LFS can order them for pennies, when I worked at an LFS we took one in from a customer and we couldn't even give it away. They will grow quickly. The anglers are cool, but I doubt a LFS wants 6 of them, and when they realize you aren't trading something in from your tank but you are illegally collecting and selling they probably won't want any part of it.

I also caught two matted file fish. How do they do in a mixed reef? Also if I took the anglers back I'd only take 1 or 2. Of the big ones.
