SFVR/AW Frag Swap March 27th 4-7PM!

Excellent News! Hamilton Technology has sent us an awesome brand spanking new Bali Sun metal halide pendant for our raffle. It has a mogul base for screw in halide bulbs and can be used with 175w, 250w and 400w bulbs. It also has a built in moonlight. Very cool pendant with high quality parabolic reflector.

They also sent us a slick 32" Royal Blue LED lighting strip. This bad boy would be awesome for adding shimmer effect to your all T5 lighting or just for adding some more actinic supplementation to your tank. Very cool design and very easy to install.

Thank you to Hamilton Technology for their support and their high quality products.

would you know if those leds are actual true actinic output or just aestheics looks?

Not sure what you mean by true actinic output. The color rating on the LED's are in the actinic range. If you are asking if they are powerful enough to grow corals on their own then probably not but they will add more blue to your total spectrum.

Whoever is a paid member of SFVR can get a Space Monster for 30 dollars. May have babies or may not, it don't matter to me :). Limit one per member at said price.

More raffle items!

Fantastic Frags will be donating a gift certificate and there will also be a bunch of corals donated by our members to be won in the raffle and reef games!

Thanks richard, that was the same I found on hamiltonS site. I just wanted to make sure if it was strong enough to be actinic supplements.

Hello everyone, i have never been to a SFVR meeting. I am based closer to Long beach so i have become a member of SCRK in long beach.

Since this month you guys are having a frag swap, it seems like fun and i would like to check it out. My plan is to be there for the first two hours and then come back home in time for the scrk meeting andbe able to attend both.

My question is how many people on average go to something like this? I actually was going down burbank blvd and stopped at aquarium works where the frag swap will be. It seemed like a very small store. I did not go in because they were closed until 2pm. I the even held in the store? Is it outside or in the back alley? Just a little confused since it seems like a busy street to be outside.

Hi Six2seven, the event will be held at Aquarium Works and yes it is a small store but we will also have use of the area outside in front of the store and in front of the neighboring stores which is quite large. On Sunday afternoons the street is very quiet and most of the stores surrounding Aquarium Works are closed. So there will be lot's of street parking available. As for how many people will be coming it's hard to say but judging from the response we have been getting it looks like quite a few people will be showing up.

Hope that answers your questions. Let me know if you have any other concerns. Thanks for showing your support. I like to think of SCRK as a sister club.

Thanks for the welcome. I didnt know if the two clubs were rivals lol. Ive only been a member of SCRK for a couple months. I do remember the sidewalk being very big. I should be able to make it and meet everyone. Thank you.

Usually we have our monthly meeting on the first Sunday of every month
So you are always welcome to come maybe in may:)

I'll be bringing a few frags. 3 ice fire echinata frags $25-$30, some monti's (rainbow, seasons greetings, undata, other) $20 and some other acros.
See you all there.
Jeff
