Shame on Petwarehouse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if you guys know this, but evidently the local petwarehouses just closed up shop, locked the door and did nothing to aid any of the animals they house. I hear ALL saltwater perished, along w/some reptiles. I can't believe that a business w/lots of money would abandon it's livestock, instead of purchasing a generator and saving what they could, because they are a business, and General Pet has a lot of money. They already kill 1 small wild reef a year, I guess they thought they should get started sooner and expand thier coral skeleton collection. SHAME ON YOU PETWAREHOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

which one? i assume kearney since they are the only one i know of that still has saltwater. either way, not cool.

s campbell got rid of all of theirs last time i checked. but i could be wrong.

regardless. bastards..

Pet Warehouse has always been a pit when it comes to saltwater stuff. It doesn't surprise me at all. It just reinforces the cloud of death that seems to surround the place.

Is this the same Pet Warehouse that Dr.s Foster & Smith now own?

I'm almost 100% sure they are NOT with Doc Foster or Smith. I think these guys bought out or are employed by whoever did buy them out, and that the local petwarehouses are grandfathered in to have the name, but no other stores can open. Now, this is what I heard, so it may not be accurate info, but I believe it to be true.

This is sad, and no Drs. Foster and Smith is not associated in any way. Our business is in Rhinelander,Wisconsin.

Thank you,

Good. We'll make that bill-board sized for anyone who may stumble across this thread in the future.

I can't believe I am actually reading all of this. I walked into one of those Pet Warehouses and was astonished by how horrible their salt section was. I just moved here a few weeks ago (in feb) and was trying to find a good place for livestock.

Now that Petwarehouse is agreed to not be it...does anyone have any suggestions in the Springfield MO area??

Thanks

KR

Personally, for corals, I'd go to Aquatics and Exotics - fewell has a selection that beats the pants offa the competition. Aquatics and Exotics AND Cichlids and Salts have an adequate fish selection. Once you get to know the owners of BOTH stores, you can generally get Jon (C&S) or Matt (A&E) to order exactly what you are looking for.
Thanks for dropping by the SEAS forum, by the way!

Thats telling them Race Foster, D.V.M. Why would anyboby shop else where with all the great prices you guys have. Of coarse Dr Foster/Smith is the reason my retirement fund has a little hole in it with all that I buy from them :):)..........

Great thanks! Where is Aquatics and Exotics? I have looked in the yahoo directory and didn't find it. I have been to Cichlids and Salt. The owner is really nice.

Now that I know there is a forum for Springfield I will definitely try and keep up with the latest info.

Do you know if there are ever any frag swaps around here?

Thanks for the info

KR
