sharks

I would say no.

1) They are recomended to be kept by "Expert Only "

2) They get 12'' max size and the tank is only 18'' so what it will have 3'' on each side of it width wise... thats with no rock in tank at all.

3) See 1 + 2

Harlequin tusk
Maroon clowns
Blue jaw trigger
Foxface
Engineer goby

Hippo Tang for a while, but they grow to be flat out Monster sized fish, one of my LFS's has a 13" hippo in a 400g and it Looks Huge even in the 400g!

I have a list of fish I want. I am going to get a 125 or 150 gallon.
Heres the list:
Harlequin tusk Borderline, I personally wouldn't
Harlequin sweetlips? Not sure what species of sweetlips you are referring too, but they will all get too big for a 6' tank
Hippo tang IMO/E, needs an 8 foot tank
Maroon clowns would work
Blue jaw trigger Borderline, I personally wouldn't
Foxface Should work
Emperor angelfish Gets too big for a 6 foot tank
Engineer goby??? Don't know enough about them to comment
Garden eel? Requires a very deep sandbed, and tend to be shy and difficult to feed, should pass
Naso tang? Duesiemiri tang? Both need larger tanks, much larger
I want a reef setup fyi. Tell me a combo of these selections and which you think will work. Thanks

Ok thanks. Can you look at my list of "wants" and tell me what would work. Thanks

My opinions in red.

Why wouldn't a emperor work? I've read sites that say 100 gallons. Also, now that I think I don't a want a engineer goby. Stars and stripes puffer?

100 is way too small for an emperor angel.

Seems that the majority of the fish you are looking at require tanks twice as big as you are planning. Would be better off looking at smaller fish.

Not reef compatible.

And it too gets almost as long as your tank is wide.... A lot of this is just common sense.

I wouldn't do one in a Reef for these reasons:

1.They get huge, 15"+
2.There skin is poisonous, And when Threatened, it will release a Lethal Toxin into the tank, killing everything.

Ok thanks. Yes I don't know how they r so patient, but I am sure thankful for it.
What is a fish you recommend that is colorful and very personable with a personality. Thanks.

now that u got those out,

do you want a coral reef tank ?

or do you want a FOWLR tank, with large fish and no corals ?

before you reply, you should do some research though !

find out what a coral reef tank is, what it needs, requirements for a reef tank you need good lighting, GOOD flow, GOOD water chemistry.

which you do not need for FOWLR tank. and alot of those nice fish, eat corals.

after that, its space ! you seem to like larger fish, sooooo, how much room do you have ? and what is your budget like ?

once u know the largest tank size u can set up and MAINTAIN, then you can think of what fish would fit in there and .... so on ...

but its good that you are planning ahead. I would just come up with size first and then think of the fish ... and dont worry, there is colorfull fish with personality even for a 20 G tank :)
