Great job on the sump build. I built my original sump the exact same way. I think now it will be my new refugium.

I designed a way to have the drains submerged to work with bean animal but not have to move plumbing to get the filter socks out, I'm happy with the result

I like the idea. Do you think the water will escape around the perimeter and under the rim of the sock instead of into it? Probabally depends on how much flow you have. High flow= minimal escape and low flow = more escape? Just guessing here.

Thanks, I've figured out this acrylic, fortunately from being a woodworker, I have lots of tools like saws and routers

No water will take path of least resistance, and the fact that I made the acrylic fit the sock circumference perfectly the water naturally flows into the sock, also there are 2 layers of acrylic with the first layer holds up the sock and the second fits around the lip so the water doesn't have to climb over any rim

Thanks, I did a lot of planning for this one, after having the 110 I learned exactly what I wanted, from size to automation to make keeping things as stable as possible

Now I'm working on making a automatic zeo stone reactor, I'm using a large cylinder put on its side rotated by a small motor run periodically by the profilux

I agree. I think a system is awesome when extensively thought out and then built without just throwing something together.

I agree, and it makes life a whole lot easier. I also want to be able to go on holidays for 2-3 weeks and have things be ok like the top off reservoir being large enough to last that long, same with the dosing liquids and the skimmer effluent reservoir.:spin2:

You should work on some patents and market your craftsmanship. Unbelievable. I taught myself basic PVC plumbing but you have taken basic plastic technique up at least several logarithms in improvement! Pop some champagne!

Do you have a diagram of your flow leaving the tank, going into the sump, flowing across to the 40 gal refgium, and finally returning to the tank?

If it's not too much trouble I would be interested in seeing more photos of your sump design.
