Short and sweet, my 24 gallon nano

Hello everyone! I just wanted to post a recent shot of my 50, since we are in pic mode:

Now it's your turn, Amanda. ;) Have a great start to the week!

Beautiful picture Kayla, I just love the 50 cube, it makes me want one!

I moved my other Red Brain that I have had for a couple years into the Nano and it is doing much better now and puffing up. They are a lot easier to feed and care for in the Nano, plus there is not as much current and they seem to like it much better.

Here is the Nano from today, look how the coraline algae is just taking off in this tank at only 2 and a half months old.

RJ, what do you dose your nano with and how often?
I just dose the Araga Milk 2 times a week, which has a lot of essential trace elements and has a nice dose of calcium with it.

Just Aragamilk twice per week? That is pretty amazing coraline for just adding it twice a week. You must be dosing a high amount?

Your tank's lookin good too, RJ! Now all we need is one of Amanda's...

Wow, calcium and alk together? Shouldn't they void each others' buffering capabilities? I'm not familiar with the product, though, and obviously it's working well for you. :)

Araga Milk is just like Kent's Liquid Reactor product but it does carry a little more of a calcium boost than Liquid Reactor according to most. But for the most part, it is a product that is a one stop shopping item rather than using a calcium reactor with bunches of other suppliments and it is working very well for me. I just give a small squirt in the nano, probably about 1/8th of a shot glass I am thinking if you wanted to know an aproximate amount of my dosage for the Nano.

I use the Araga Milk 2 times a week on the 90g of about a 1/2 shot glass, but I also use Kent Liquid Calcium and Kent Kalk on the 90g 2 times a week, so there is 6 suppliments a week between the 3 and on the 7th day there is a water change.

Sorry, things are crazy right now with the end of school and dance and picking up piano lessons and gymnastics, I can't wait until summer!

I don't know why, but 3 of my feather dusters have lost their heads, but are still in their tubes. My coco worm lost it's head several weeks ago and regrew a new one. Everything else is doing great!

Amanda, My feather did that several times too until it finally died. I wonder if that is a sign of stress?

RJ, I always wondered how those one part calcium products were. Is it cloudy after you initally dose with the milk? I use the two part B-Ionic 3x per week and and drip Kalk 2x per week.

Kayla, Did you see those mini sand eels at the ATL aquarium? I forget what they are called but they were cool. They burrowed down into the sandbed and popped up 6" or so. I wish they sold those at my LFS.

I hear ya, Amanda! I'm sooo ready for summer too.

Yes, they are called garden eels. I love those guys! :D

24 gal Nano Cube by JBJ

It first saw water Feb 2005. It ran for 6 months until I transfered eveything to the 40G. Then I brought it out of storage last Nov. I removed the stock canopy and went with an Odyssea MH fixture, an CPR BakPak PS skimmer, installed a closed loop w/ a SCWD. I wanted a medium flow, medium light environment for softies, shrooms, zoas, LPS and an RBTA with very little maintenance.

I dose it and the water is a milky white for an hour or so, you have the shake the bottle very well before you squirt it in the tank. I squirt mine into the return area and it get's mixed around really well when it hits in the tank, since your suppose to squirt in an area of high flow. I tried the 2 part product some time ago for a week and it threw my calcium and alk way out of wack, so I went back to the Araga Milk and it stabilized after a couple weeks.

RJ - thanks for clearing that up...no pun intended. ;)

mdt178 - that is a very cute nano! I love your aquacaping...and your favorite coral (blastos are my fav as well). :D

Hmm... Where has all our excitement gone to these day's. I remember when we couldn't wait to take and get new pictures out here for everyone to see. New closeups's of different corals, new corals purchased at least every few days to a week or so.

I have not purchased anything new for my tank since the swap and my picture taking is about a week between picture taking sessions and the sessions for taking pictures are shorter.

Hmm... Where has all the excitement gone to the day's!

Want to tell all of you guys that your tanks are amazing and each one has given me enough idea's for at least 9 more tanks.

Hi everyone! Everyone's tanks look awesome!!!!!! My tank is doing great! My caps are growing like crazy as well as my clams!!!! All my fish are doing great and the tank is stable. My anemones are doing great also.

I'll try to get some pics up, but it's so hard right now for me. It seems when I do have time, it's at night when lights are off, so bare with me.

Amanda
