Should I buy a RODI filter?

For the money, I really like the bulkreefsupply.com units for $150. Great prefilters and Dow Filmtec membranes.

I would advise you to call the guy from Buckeye field supply he is very good and can answer all of your questions he really helped me good luck

An RO/DI unit is a must have for a reefer. Many lfs do not sell 0 tds RO water. Also, there may be times you need water when the store is closed. There is also the convenience of not having to carry jugs.

We also use it for all our drinking water and water for coffee, etc.

A while ago, there was a thread asking what piece of equimpment that you could not live without. I'd say about 90% - 95% said RO/DI. For me, it was on top of my list on can't live withouts.

I see a lot of RO/DI systems on ebay for under $150, are any of these okay to go with? I would like to stay under $150 if I could. I saw some for around $100, I would love to get away w/ one of those, but I dont want to buy a POS...any idea's?

what about this one? I can also add $18 bag of resin refill, good for 3 refills.

or this one which I would love to get if it's not a POS...$89!

You really dont want a unit with the small horizontal DI canisters. You want one with the clear, vertical, full size di canisters.
Also, that 100 GPD membrane is most likely one of the 90% rejection rate filters. The 75 gpd dow filmtec offers a 96 - 98% rejections rate. The difference is very very signifigant in how long your di resin will last.

Go with one of the RC sponsors ...

They all have quality units, and service beyond the sale itself.
