Show me pics of yo Tangs !!!!!!

I ran my tank the same way you did EVOLUST right up until the point I had an Ich run through my tankand kill off half my tank from later consequences. I set up the QT and the ozonizer on the new tank to prevent this issue from happening again.

I quarantine, and run ozone. Have a uv, but never hooked it up.

All of my tangs except my powder blue haven't had ich. I think the key is good water quality, large tank (and system volume), stable parameters and no stress.

The reason the PBT gets ich (a few spots here and there, never passes it to ANY other fish) is because it is super-aggressive and stresses itself to produce a low immune system. He even chases his reflection. But, he is fat, and otherwise healthy, and been like this almost 2 years now.

I too do not QT. Haven't for over 7 years with my other tank. Only had 2 cases of ich, one recently on a clown. Cleared up just fine. No Ozone or UV on that tank, just a good healty STRESS FREE enviroment. ;) Same with the big tank except it does have ozone and UV, came that way. But I haven't QT'd since I got it. Added a Copper banded Butterfly and a wantanabi angel that had a bit of fungus on them. They recoverd just fine and teh growth went away. Again good water quality and a stress free enviroment are key to healty fish.

I've also had a discussion with the currator of teh research lab at UCSB up teh road from me. He believes in the same thing and hasn't had a case of ich in over 5 years. All of his specimens are wild caught right off the shores here and the use filtered NSW, same as me. :D

I've seen people go thru a mulitude of proceses to rid theri fish of ich only to have it reappear once the fish was in the main display. Ich it seems is mostly brought on by stress which lowers the immune system of the fish. Just my observations over the last 25 years. ;)

I have a huge tank and I had a lot of tangs, but then an ick outbreak went full blown.

I run ozone and uv, did hypo, and it has returned.

But ya, these fishs are the best.

The vlamgii tangs look like missiles lol.

Poor man in San Fran. Impossible !! For sale: one bedroon condo, no views, no ammenities, $2.5 million, LOL. Maine is more reasonable this way but we have outrageous taxes. Any shots of the huge tank ???

Its mostly an empty 300 gal now.

I lost 2/3 of my fishs including 3 regals who were eating.

Most of my fishs were tangs.

Rofl, rent costs an arm and a leg in SF!

Why is it being eradicated? Is it up to no good?:(

He is now a peacefull resident with all the current inhabitants, but if I attempt to add any new fish outside of a fish that looks like a chromis or an anthias, it goes medieval on them. It killed a long nose butterfly and a cooperbanded butterfly I added to the tank in about 10 min. both:mad2: :mad2: No joke or exageration. When I fish added the moorish idol, which was the side of a diner plate and twice as big as the achiles, it went to town on him for 3 days straight. I am amazed it did not kill it  After that, it ignored it. Besides, I want to concentrate my tank with fish that are all community and small. The desjardini is a go too. Neither one eat enough algae off the rocks to justify keeping them either.

Pavlo, and the rest of you , do you QT you're tangs when you get them ? and what are you're procedures for doing so, thanx

Most definately should, as with any other fish, but I personally never do. ;)
