Pro,
It was the product of a lot of research, and some patience, and a truely aswsome local store here that brings in amazing livestock. I only have 3 angels in the 180 but I had some fun there as well as I have a lunada trigger, a golden puffer and a dussimari tang with them among others.
The 96 gal took more time. I made sure that I varried the size and color when I intorduced them. I tried to put twon in together at all times to level out the feeling out periord. I kept the groups diverse and if there was a potential for conflict due to same group it was with hardy but mildly aggresive fish. The only area I was nervious about was the Blueline and Goldflake together as they are in teh same group and have similar body shapes. To my amazment not ony was there not a challenge with them they actually school together at night, a very cool sight. The rockbeuty and Grey velvet might have been a challenge as well but I made sure that the Rock beauty was well established before adding the Grey velvet. I am going to go for one more angle in that tank this fall and that is a multi color as I wanted to put the pygmy in last due to its teritoral nature.
The Bellus in the reef was easy as I knew that as a swallowtail it would very likely not be a challenge with the corals and she is just a flat awesome fish both temperment and lookswise.
I am setting up a 225 f/o that will also have a grifths angel as well as two that are in the 96 now (majestic and blueface) and I am going to add a couple of more in that as well.
I am also settin up a 225 reef that I plan to put a pair of Bellus and a pair of true Japanees Swallowtails in.
I have not had a single challenge with agression and have not lost a single angel that I have added to any tank. The interaction is amazing to watch and due to a varied diet and lack of stress all of them have great color and girth.
Thanks for the interest.
