Show me your 20k Radium tanks?

i just installed a radium 150 watt on a pfo electronic ballast the color is yellow is this commen before burn in

Yes, some what... However the 150W Radium is notorious for being less blue than it's higher wattage brethren...

thanks, i guess i will wait it out and see what happens, is it ideal to have this bulb on a magnetic ballast i opened up the pfo ballast box and there is a aro ballast insde of it
 
I am still on the fence whether or not to switch from my Reeflux 10k bulbs to the Radium. I was hoping someone could post some pictures if they are running 250 watt Radiums on Gallaxy ballasts. If you are using supplemental lighting (i.e. T5, VHO, etc.) please state the bulbs you are using. Also, please state if the picture is different from the colors you see in person.
 
Ill post pics of my setup tomorrow some time. I got stuff going on tonight which doesnt allow me to take pics.

I am running ( just switched this week ) ARO 250 w ballast on the left side. and a Coralvue 400W on the right side, and I cant tell the difference at all between the two bulbs, they have the same exact color. Super bright white with a nice tint of blue, No where near as blue as my XM 20k's I also am running Vho super actinics.

I have found my new bulb. I think that these things are amazing!

Okay, okay, but the $64,000 question remains unansweredâ€"that is how are the colors of your corals with the whiter Radiums compared to the bluer XM 20K....???????????
 
well, the xm's to me seemed dim. It is yet to be determined because I just put them in this past week. I will keep an eye on it. I just like the color better the xm's were pure blue with very little white.

Very nice reef! The galaxy ballast puts out a very similar color to my PFO HQI Ballast....
 
Which Lumenmax? - my cube is 30" Long x 30" wide and only 18"high.

I have a canopy which is 10" tall.

Which would be better Lumenmax elite (mogul) or Lumenmax 2 (mogul).

Not that it matters at this point but I will be running a 250W Radium off an M80 (hqi)ballast.

What ballast are you running your Radium on, sdoggssf? And what reflector are you using, and how high over the water is it mounted?

Cool tankâ€"what's the measurement from front corner to front corner...?

Hello,

So you have me convinced and I am going to give these radiums a shot. I currently have two 250w DE 15k Iwasakis on a PHO HQI ballast, so I guess my ballast is good. So I will have to go with new reflectors and this will be quite an investment to try these but they look great.

I am also running four 24w t5s right now. I am running them on Tek ballasts. Can these be converted to VHO? Or would I have to get new Ballasts and endcaps?

Would it be worth it to switch over to VHO or is there a nice combo of four 24w t5 bulbs that would give the radiums an awesome look?
