The 150watt DE version is much more white than the SE 250 or 400.

Thanks I was curious on that. I wanted the extra par from the radium over a XM at 150w. I'm thinking i'll stick with this radium for growth for now, as I am building a new tank and will use a 250w over it.

speedstar is that radium 150watts alone? why don't you use some t'5 to make it bluer if that's what you're looking for?

From a cost standpoint, how many watts does a 400w radium driven on a galaxy ballast pull compared to a 250w radium on an HQI ballast?

Yes that is just the radium, I may add T5's but really don;t want to add to the heat issue I already have. It is able to be kept and 79.3 with just a fan now and I like that. I'll be upgrading tanks soon and will add them at that point as I already own a 660 ballast. I will just have to wait and see what the 250 looks like alone first.

I tried to find it if it was posted already in this thread but may have missed it,
Has anyone tried the 250 Mh Radium on the ARO eballast from Hellolights? I have that ballast currently and am running 10k ushio bulbs with antics, looking to do away with the supplemental lighting for a while, will the 250 on the ARO be too blue, looking for that nice crisp white blue look, with a lot of pop on the corals...

Does anyone know if its possible to run a 250w radium in a 400w dimmable electronic ballast, dimmed back a 1/4, seeing as the 250w lamps are designed to run around 300w,and what sort of color would burn at ??

I'm actually considering doing this too. If I do I'll let you know how it turns out.

I am running 3- 250wt- 20k with galaxy ballasts and lumenmax reflectors. Supplemented with superbrite LED's actinic.
